Have you tried Game at Carousel? I'm mostly recommending it on vibes based on your likes. I'm not sure if it fits the humor or the monster MC angle. Lots of worldbuilding and a little bit of politics (it's a bit handwavy and used more to set up expectations). Just saw it wasn't in your list and thought it'd fit.

TheRaith

It feels nice to say it's not about the mtx or the swag bags, it's truly for the love of the game. (But also for the mtx cause I like wings)

TheRaith

Snecko Skull would be great for a poison build /s

I can kind of see that but it sounds like the ban is the more pressing issue for you which I can't really speak on. I listened to the first 4 books as audiobooks during work so I liked the long set up. If the story itself doesn't interest you then it's probably fine to drop it, I just think most of the solutions you suggested have been implemented which makes me wonder if you'd end up hooked again regardless of the ban.

TheRaith

Definitely no systems but a lot of progression

I mean, they're not exaggerating. The genre is mostly lesbian, ace, or bi female leads. If you're saying there aren't that many then you're reading a different subset of the genre from me and I like to think I'm reading a decent sized subset. The sticking point is whether that bothers you. Like there are a lot of really good stories in the genre with female protagonists that aren't straight. Even if someone does a deep dive and finds that the number is something absurd like 80% of the genre I don't exactly mind.

TheRaith

Yes, but when you get to end game you're going to be in for a longer grind than other people. Comparison will be the thief of joy there so don't look at your playthrough and start wondering why you're slower. Also probably don't read too many comments on the subreddit because the people here are either way too helpful, which ruins the exploration, or too deep in the sauce, which makes you feel like you need to do what they're doing to have fun.

TheRaith

Did you ever pick the story up again? I skimmed your post and it feels like you stopped right before all the excitement happened. Also, I don't want to comment too much on the author because I genuinely don't care, but I do see a lot of authors block people who make criticisms or even constructive feedback because they don't actually want it or because it's harmful to their writing process. Like yeah there's probably a million ways to make every story better, but if you're the author of the story and you see lots of people like it then you probably just want to keep following the outline you made. The people who start talking about the rules of the game and how to make it better are just getting in the way of the discussion of the plot that the author actually wants to see.

TheRaith

Eh, I tend to think a lot of them can rise above where they start. I wouldn't trust them to start, but I'd definitely spend time with them.

TheRaith

Ah, one of those, gotcha.

He also apologized to the guy when he spoke to him one on one and explained that he was disrupting the class and Lud wanted to take back control of the class. Granted, the kid didn't really seem like he was listening, but the takeaway is there was more than what the clip showed.

TheRaith

I'm guessing it's an accessibility thing. Like the clippers he hired were people who exclusively made a Ludwig clips channel and he reached out to them and formalized employment. Not all the streamers at SU have fans make clip channels of them and it'd come across as a little tone deaf.

TheRaith

Gotcha, I haven't been trading in the last year. My bad. I'm used to trading being pretty stagnant.

TheRaith

I don't know what you mean by locked, you can put items in and set a price and click okay, then immediately click again to change that price. Unless I'm missing a more recent patch you've always been able to do that.

TheRaith

To be fair, you tried to buy an item listed 21 seconds ago. That's notoriously early enough to where the the server could've ticked over to show one price, then the seller could've changed it and it didn't update into trade yet. From the seller's perspective he put a belt it, thought it was too low and put it higher, then the belt was still instantly bought so they're probably thinking they should've put it even higher.

TheRaith

This is the internet though, like 85% of all art on it is gooner bait

TheRaith

This looks less like a ritual and more like some guy's investment portfolio

TheRaith

I like it, but the way you painted blood on only two fingers looks a little weird. Like I get the logic of it with the position of those two fingers on the model, but realistically speaking if she's getting blood on her fingers it won't be just two of them. There's a very crass observation that I could make but I don't actually think that's your intent.

TheRaith

So Is the play to do legacy of lifesprig, hedgewitch rune of wisdom, and then some combo of vision and iron runes?

TheRaith

The best one is still WIAFTTTTA by Dragon of Rochester, purely because you can pronounce it as 'we afta' and no one will ever know what you're talking about.

TheRaith

I'm fairly certain hollow palm and facebreakers work together. The only difference would be the flat damage. Mace skills will get their flat damage from the gloves and staff skills will get their damage from gem level. Actually checking things an evasion character that stacks strength would be getting a little less on the more damage multiplier and a little less on the more attack speed multiplier but the fact you're getting both of those values for unarmed attacks should make up for that. I imagine it's not too different from a character with an average dps mace and an average dps staff in the offhand but with a generic more damage and speed multiplier thrown on top. The only big thing is you'll be scaling strength and evasion which is a little weird.

TheRaith

There's likely a new hidden miscellaneous stat that's just campaign bosses killed that determines the number. POE usually just throws every variable into the character screen.

TheRaith

The facebreakers are tempting me to actually try mace skills. I haven't played them ever in POE1 but this has me excited.

when the ad occurs ~23,000 years after chapter 1

TheRaith

Me every time Jason goes into his "I tried being serious" monologue. I've learned to be as gracious as I can be about it. We probably all have really cringe lines we've said in life that we randomly remember 20 years later. That they're also in stories just means we can collectively cringe about it.
