TheRealestBiz

Study America 1985-1995.

TheRealestBiz

I worked kind of near a military base for awhile, and the C-130s cruising at low altitude sounded like a locomotive engine falling on you from the sky. I couldn’t imagine what that one is like.

TheRealestBiz

Is it bigger than the Spruce Goose?

TheRealestBiz

At least for the first few games, management and employees at Don’t Nod were mostly the same people.

TheRealestBiz

Oh this is part of the current unpleasantness in France.

Don’t Nod has been supposedly about to collapse every year for the last six or seven years. Never happens.

TheRealestBiz

No. “Can’t afford three sets of pointed ears” is just poverty.

TheRealestBiz

They were mostly farmers and weavers you know. “Viking” means “to raid,” the vikings were all raiders but most Scandinavians weren’t.

The xeno isn’t the killing machine of later iterations, it’s an ambush predator who disables its prey and drags it back to its lair like a cat.

If the xeno bit them with its six inch long fangs, it would kill them most likely. Also it gets into hard to reach places like a vacuum cleaner attachment.

It’s gimmicky I’ll grant you, but it’s a way to give teenagers cyberware for the game.

But it makes up for it with the classes. The gangs. They’re great. And someone went to great lengths to learn 90s teen culture and the slang before writing the book. In a world where search engines didn’t even exist, no one over thirty knew what the fuck we were even saying as a rule.

TheRealestBiz

Yeah when he was doing media for Red and 2077. I think it might have been a podcast interview. Role to Cast maybe?

TheRealestBiz

Cybergeneration was supposed to be a sequel to Cyberpunk and got relegated to non-canon status before 203X.

Fans hated it. The reasons they hated it are hilarious in Current Year though. An America openly run by corps with happy-face fascism wasn’t “realistic” for 2027. It was “too anime.” You had to play as teenagers. It’s a very rules-light system that you can just pick up and play, the corebook is the tutorial mission at the same time. Like a starter kit with the whole game in it.

If they released it now, it’d probably be their most popular product.

TheRealestBiz

Yeah the fans talked Martin out of finishing the book series.

TheRealestBiz

It is the rare show that has more than three great seasons.

TheRealestBiz

I’m repeating word for word what Mike Pondsmith said about it. They talk but as to who has the final call, it’s divided at the year 2070.

ETA: Once you know this, look at the timeline. Pondsmith has twenty plus years to play with that end in a series of massive wars and create the 2077 world.

TheRealestBiz

R. Tal owns the setting until the in-game year 2070, CDPR owns the setting from 2071 on.

TheRealestBiz

Nothing is ever as good as the breakout season of a show. That’s just how TV works.

TheRealestBiz

We live in a world where almost anyone under 30 don’t even know who Mr. Sulu is (and the rest think Sulu is the Harold and Kumar guy) and he’s still famous. George Takei is a gay rights social media influencer to them.

This is what casts do when they get old, they spill the tea. Or they die and then people feel comfortable enough to tell the stories.

TheRealestBiz

I’m shocked she’s wearing a bra, given the time period.

TheRealestBiz

Avoiding the scroll.

TheRealestBiz

And you were mad that she wasn’t white enough? Because that’s all that the doomers were angry about for two plus years.

TheRealestBiz

Not white enough huh? Only being half-white isn’t enough white?

Def keep this line of thought.

TheRealestBiz

Laaaaaaaame.

TheRealestBiz

Even Witcher fans were mostly happy with the first season, except for the doomers. It’s like the only show that anyone talked about for months at the beginning of the pandemic.

TheRealestBiz

Is it? Would you like to take a trip over to the sub that’s Witcher in Polish and hit translate? They thought it was real clever to cover up their overt racism and misogyny at the time. Before easy translation.

TheRealestBiz

She was the most popular part of the first season.
