I had no idea about the Japan tryouts. The fact that it’s in four days and WPBL’s official website has no mention of it speaks directly to the lack of communication and apparent plan from the league right now. And what even happens after these tryouts? No upcoming draft has been mentioned either. I guess this is the reality of start up leagues.

Agreed, they need more funding and it wouldn’t seem like a huge investment. Given what we know about player salaries there’s no way they spent over $1,000,000 combined, if even half of that, on paying the players. An MLB minimum salary is over $700k.

I was perhaps naively hopeful that Kim’s initial removal a month ago could have been a step towards progress in getting updates for season 2. The fact that we haven’t gotten ANY updates, coupled with how this legal battle is playing out, is deeply concerning. The players and coaches deserve better.

It looks like the games disappear from the replays after a month as some others have noted it only goes back to September 14th. I recommend a free VPN and setting location outside of the US, then going to the league’s Youtube channel to see streams of every game.

I think the genuine intentions are to achieve both of those and they aren’t mutually exclusive. But obviously the method of getting that has been messy thus far.

I hear you, but it’s honestly tough to come to any certainty without the complete picture. Another board member departed (Kloppenborg) who was an associate of CEO Stein’s law firm and whose presence on the board/council was one of the points in the initial suit.

It could just be an attempt to clean up house and get a more unified front for next season. It does note at the end how the league expects a “healthy seven-figure number” as far as the money they have earned this year and it’s not as if they poured a ton of money into this first season. I’m not trying to defend the board, just trying not to think the worst from this.

My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed and thanks for reading it 🙌🏻

Thank you so much! I appreciate your insight as an umpire too, it's so funny how changing one simple thing can totally unlock a player's stuff. Hopefully we see more of this next season with increased pitching development and coaching

I could rewatch that clip all day honestly

TheTwoWayReplay

Thank you so much! Super glad to hear that!

Thank you Bruce! Truly appreciate it

To be fair to the team as a whole, the defense behind her was great and she got a bunch of first pitch outs that helped her cause. Definitely amazing given Sato’s entire season to this point though. I’m already itching to hear details about next season from commissioner Siegel haha

TheTwoWayReplay

What an absolutely amazing game. Purely storybook stuff from Sato. I have no words

TheTwoWayReplay

Shoutout to Mo’ne Davis who is having a great game, both on offense and defense

TheTwoWayReplay

Sato has been incredible, but the amount of first pitch outs the Firebells have made today is baffling. It’s a big reason why Sato has barely cracked 60 pitched

TheTwoWayReplay

At bat of the year right here

TheTwoWayReplay

No other game has been remotely as low scoring as this one. I’m sure if the season were longer there would have been a few games like this

TheTwoWayReplay

It would be really funny if we get the lowest scoring game in league history tonight

TheTwoWayReplay

A bit of an unlucky inning for Albayati but I think this is the best she’s looked since returning from injury

TheTwoWayReplay

Excellent play from Leguizamon, a massive run saving play

TheTwoWayReplay

That was smoked from Shimano. Such a fun player to watch

TheTwoWayReplay

Even still, Edwards and Hondras were way closer and didn’t have to run at all, it should have been an easy out
