Well it's the fact that there's always gonna be someone younger than you who is better at something you do, in my example theatre, but it's when you see that person being better than you just enjoying it, example:

I had to sing a little bit of a solo for the finale of my show and I sung my lines, next a 8-9 yr old girl goes to her place on the stage and smashes the long, belting note perfectly causing me to smile as I saw on her face the biggest smile ever.

Bonus points if they like you and talk to you often (or/and admire you)
