I’m in the same boat! I’ve been told recovery can take up to 2 years, with the first 6 weeks having pretty strict weight-bearing restrictions. Around 18 months is when you may start feeling closer to fully recovered. Where are you from? Have you been able to find a surgeon who can treat you? Honestly, finding the right surgeon has been the hardest part for me.

I completely understand. Navigating Medi-Cal can be a struggle, especially when you need specialized care. I deal with daily subluxations and pain myself, so I can imagine how difficult this has been for you. Feel free to reach out if you ever need advice — I’m happy to share what I’ve learned. If you can’t get seen sooner and your symptoms are worsening, don’t be afraid to go to urgent care and continue reporting the same concerns when necessary. It also creates documentation showing the symptoms you’re experiencing and your continued efforts to obtain care. Keep copies of everything. Best of luck, and I really hope you get the care you need soon!

I’ve had more than 10 dislocations over the past 13 years. The first few were extremely painful—I couldn’t walk for days, sometimes even up to a week. After a while, though, I got so used to them that now when it happens, I pretty much automatically get up, limp for a bit, and continue with my day like nothing happened.

I’m not really sure why they stopped hurting as much after the first few. Now it’s more of a really uncomfortable feeling. I can literally feel my kneecap shift out of place, almost like it’s moving toward my inner thigh, and then eventually go back in.

One more thing—I came across your profile and noticed you’ve asked the same question in several different groups. That alone shows how much this is weighing on you.

Put yourself first. You deserve so much better. I saw that you’re a student working hard to become a nurse—focus on that. Build your career, your future, and get the hell out of that relationship.

And just in case I haven’t been direct enough: he does not care about you.

It’s never going to get better—trust me. I was in your position once. You have to choose yourself.

As women, we have the power to completely transform a man’s life—by giving him a home, comfort, a child, and unconditional love and support. And you’ve been doing exactly that. But when you show that kind of loyalty and commitment without balance, some men take advantage of it.

There will come a point when you’re just done. You won’t want to deal with the disrespect anymore. You’ll realize you deserve so much more. Don’t be like me—I stayed far too long, trying to prove my worth, hoping it would change.

I can see you love him by how much you’re supporting him. But believe me, the longer you wait, the more it’ll hurt. One day you’ll reach your breaking point—and when you finally decide to walk away, it might feel too late.

I just hope when that day comes, you remember my words.

Terrible—realizing how much resentment you hold toward your spouse for how they treated you during your pregnancy and how they prioritized others over you.

Honestly after my first kid my marriage was so tough transitioning. We were a happy couple to arguing all the time and silent treatments, we just had a second child and the same process started all over again. Take it easy and have as much outside support that you feel comfortable with. That goes along way.

I started wanting another one once my baby was 6 months I ended up getting pregnant when he was 10 months old. Absolutely love it ! We’re planning for more near the future to give my body time to heal and soak up all the moments with the kids we already have. ❤️ I’d say do it and make sure your hubby is ok with it.
