For them and the people that support them, the hypocrisy is a desired feature. They're not lying to deceive people (if that happens it's a bonus and they'll run with it), they lie simply to stir shit, insult their opponents who know they're being transparently false, and make people expend energy refuting their zero-effort falsehoods. It's that old quote about antisemitism:

If you want a light-touch nerf you could increase the attack delay on skirms so it's much harder for them to hit and run moving targets (i.e. MAA and scouts), but then you'd probably have to nerf the attack delay on archers for skirms to still counter them effectively. And that would entrench the MAA meta even harder.
