I ended up getting non chrome OEM replacements for the chrome door and front grill surround… in hindsight wrapping them would have probably been cheaper lol.
I still need to deal with the chrome rings around the fog lights… maybe I’ll look into wrap or something for those. I’ve never tried wrapping anything before so that could be a fun (or horrible) project! 🙂

Haha keep at it, you never know! I kept watering my GTS and eventually it turned into an Evo… although I did have to add a bunch of money into the mix as the water alone wasn’t cutting it lol.

Those things pop right out and are on the 2015 and newer Lancers, and did this because they put the turn signals in the side mirrors. They even put it on my Final Edition Evo… although I bought a pair of smoked turn signal lights to replace them because I hated the chrome accents.
Ironically enough when I removed them from the car, the wiring harness for the turn signals were plugged into the back of the chrome things, so now I have working turn signals there where they should be.
In my case I also wasn’t a fan of the new side mirrors, and replaced them with a new set of OEM from a 2014 because I think they look more aggressive… and because I thought the car looked a little silly with 2 sets of side turn signals blinking. 🙂

I’m with you on this… I have literally been camped in one spot trying different weapon combos for 2 days trying to find one that feels fluid and I’m struggling a bit (the PS5 controller interface sure isn’t helping any). I’ve been hell bent on longbow and/or staff and going from quick attacks on bow to slower cast fireballs on staff feels a bit jarring to me. I’ve tried adding dagger and while that works for both, it feels a bit less fluid combining ranged with melee.
I just tried swapping to GS/Dagger and holy crap it was awesome… I think it’s the first combo that felt good to me so far. I’m only level 12, but looking ahead at skills, it’s pretty easy to see good synergy between them, and fights are taking considerably less time in general (again, just on random trash in the spot I’ve been camped).
I’m still torn on Longbow/Staff due to things I’ve read about both at higher levels, but GS/Dagger seems awesome so far in terms of overall feel in combat!

I’ve had my Evo X for around 8-9 years now (wow, can’t believe my Final Edition is that old lol…), and have had 0 issues with it.
Before the Evo I had a Lancer GTS (can’t remember the year offhand, but it had the color dash display). I loved that car and also had no issues at all.
I’ve known a bunch of people with various trims, and honestly can’t recall anyone saying they’ve had any major issues outside of general maintenance.
With that said, those would have been bought new, or were probably a lot more new than they are now, so it could depend on the previous owner(s) treatment of the vehicle as well.
I’ve known many people with well over 100k on their Lancer and they were still going strong!

I’m also on Fenrir, recently came back to my original character from NA launch, and am always looking for anything fun to do.
What’s your character name? (OP or anyone else who used to play on Fenrir back in the day)
My character name is Kane… feel free to shoot me a /tell and say hi! 😊

There really is... I'm trying to use map markers to track things worth remembering as I discover them, and have just started wandering around to the area to the East a bit. I beat Margit a while ago (around level 28-30ish I think), but have not gone into the castle yet... and have just been trying to make a very thorough search of the starting area.
I just stumbled on a boss a couple nights ago that I refused to move on until I beat it... which led me to grind out another 5 levels or so, and I finally got him last night. I really assumed that I would be way over-level for the starting area, but based on this guy, maybe not lol.
I think I have a couple more spots to revisit and go through, but otherwise I'm fairly certain all I have left is the dragon and the castle that need doing before I move on for good.
Or, I might explore a bit more... heading out of the starting area was the best decision I've made in days, as I ended up finding/unlocking some things that really helped my character in general!
I really want to find some new gear though... I'm still wearing my Vagabond armor because I just haven't really found anything better. I got a sweet curved sword a couple days ago, which I'm really enjoying... but was pretty much using the starter sword until then even. I know gear is out there, I just need to find it!
Titan793
I ran into 2 different areas where it happened while I was wandering around, and never actually made it back to those spots. I'm a bit all over the place so far... I think I just hit level 48 last night, and I honestly haven't really left the first area lol. I keep finding random bosses and things, wander around killing stuff, farming runes to help me fight the aforementioned bosses, etc.
Maybe I should go explore the areas that I killed the NPCs at... I don't recall seeing a tutorial. There was a guy that gave me some items, but maybe I blew through the tutorial too quickly, as I'm really not interested in multiplayer (for this playthrough at least).
Anyway, thanks for the info... I didn't want to play "offline" as I do like seeing the other ghosts, messages, etc., but I really have no interest having another person trying to kill me while I'm busy dying to everything else lol.
Titan793
It appears that this is correct... I had no idea that "story bot invaders" were a thing. I've never played any of the other FromSoftware games, and I've been trying to not look anything up in this one so that I can discover whatever I find myself. After seeing your reply, I went back to the spots where I had been invaded previously and killed them.
I'm not sure if NPC invaders were a thing in previous games or not, but there sure are lots of things to figure out here!
Titan793
This seems to be incorrect. I have never summoned anyone, and I get invaded almost daily. I typically just run away because I honestly don't care to PVP, and then eventually see the message indicating that they have returned to their world. As far as I can tell, you would have to play "offline" to avoid being invaded.
Titan793
Hey, I just logged in and rested a few times (just in case), but my pawn didn’t come back from any adventures. Do you have to rest at an inn or anything first?
Titan793
Thank you so much! I haven’t made it far enough into BBI yet to get level 3 stuff, but I’ll definitely send some your way when I get some!
I’ve been leveling fairly slowly to min/max a bit, so I’ve been more focused on ranking up with low xp to get augments and whatnot.
Too bad my PS3 save didn’t carry over to the PS4, I’d have tons of stuff I could send you!
Titan793
I wish this worked for turning it into the quest NPC too lol...
Titan793
That would be awesome if you didn't mind. You can buy it back for 66k from the Black Cat if you decided that you did want one. The minute I talked to the NPC to turn the quest in I realized the mistake that I made, and it overwrote my manual save, so I couldn't roll the game back to prior to turn in.
Titan793
Yep, I'm playing an Assassin (Kajir), and a Warlock (Zevron) on the FG server right now, and am definitely going to be playing Pantheon.
Titan793
Haha, no problem at all.. glad I decided to reply even though you covered pretty much everything!

"...where dodging is a mechanic..."
I just want to expand on this a little bit. Although it is sort of possible to dodge now and then, it's not quite what you would think.
If the monster your fighting starts his animation, you're getting hit.. no questions asked. If he begins to swing at you, and you blink out of the way (Assassin/Mage for example), you will get hit even if you're no longer near them.
The combat system is a lot of fun in general, but can also feel a bit clunky. They tried to get that "action" combat feel, but they didn't really do it as well as they could have, which can lead to some frustration.
In general, this game is a "grind" style MMO at the core, so if you don't mind that, you'll be fine. The first 25(ish) levels go by quite quickly, and you don't notice this much, but suddenly you start to see a bit of it's grindy roots, and then it flat out punches you in the face.
I don't mind a grind, but the RNG in this game is a bit much. Gear will drop for your specific class, however the stats on the gear can be for any class in the game. I've spent weeks trying to get gear from a dungeon, only to throw out 20+ pieces before I get one that I would actually use. You "can" change stats later on, but you have to level up the gear (temper it) to +15, and have an item to do so.
Tempering is another area where you'll really notice the RNG after a while. Anything over +10 has a chance to de-level with each attempt, and the only way to avoid that is to use an in game currency (Ellun) to prevent the de-level per attempt. This quickly turns the game into somewhat of a "Pay to Win" game, as the fastest way to earn Ellun is definitely to buy it in the store.
With all that said, this game is a lot of fun, and I'm really enjoying it.. but there are a few things that could potentially/eventually change your opinion of it.

My first MMO was EQoA ( Everquest Online Adventures ) for the PS2. I played a warrior on the Hodstock server, and still miss some of the people that I met to this day.
I never had a "gaming pc" ( until I built my first one when FFXI came out ), so when "Everquest" was released for a console, I bought it to see what all the buzz was about. That turned out to be both the best, and worse, decision of my life lol... I love these games, but they are so addicting, and can really take over your life if you let them!
Titan793
I've been playing Riders of Icarus to kill the time. Went looking for a game that I hadn't tried, and actually am really enjoying it.
I just found a nice guild, and even have 5 or 6 people that work with me playing. Hopefully the grind doesn't get too crazy, and I can ride this one out for a while until Pantheon is released.
Titan793
A bit late to this thread, but did you guys end up starting a guild?
I started playing a couple weeks ago (18 Berserker, and 20 Wizard that is now my main focus), and have some friends who work with me playing as well.. I've been thinking that joining a guild might be a good idea (especially with other people still leveling up).
Titan793
Yea, this is much better.. it could still be more subtle, but this is definitely a step (or two) in the right direction!
Titan793
I never played EQ.. my first MMO was actually EQoA ( EverQuest Online Adventures ) on the PS2. I loved that game, and have been chasing after the feeling I got from it ( and the friends that I met there ) to this day.
I played that until FFXI came out, which I tried because of my love for the FF franchise in general. I wasn't expecting it to grab ahold of me like it did, but there went probably 5-6 years of my life!
After XI, was Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, which really felt a lot like EQoA again. I absolutely loved that game, and hated that it was eventually shut down.
Generally speaking, I try the majority of MMOs that come out as long as I can stand the graphics. Aside from WoW, I've played most of the mainstream MMO's. Some were for fairly short periods of time, but I did hit "end game" in the majority of them.
In "mostly" no particular order, these are the games that I can remember playing: EQoA, FFXI, Vanguard, EQ2, WAR, Aion, GW2, Rift, Tera, LoTRO, FFXIV, FFXIV ARR, Archeage, ESO
I'm currently back in LoTRO working on my old Champion character, and really enjoying the relaxing pace of leveling up again.
Like everyone else is saying, a Lancer is a perfect size vehicle and definitely does not have a hard time turning, getting in/out of parking spots, etc. I’ve owned two of them, and currently own a final edition Evo. I have never had a single issue with any of them… they are great cars!
