It's very pretty, but readability should not be sacrificed for design. I had no idea what this said until I read the caption.

Melton's App & Tapp in Decatur. It is awesome.

This is not an option. I cannot connect to our internally hosted database from our externally hosted website because the firewall prevents any external access. If I even made the attempt, I would be promptly fired.

Tits_McCoder

There is no login. I've been pushing for that functionality, but the integration with our incredibly outdated customer database would be so expensive management won't go for it.

Are you kidding? I would love it if a client already knew what colors they wanted. Hex values too? Score!

I think that may be a regional bias. In areas where high-tech industry is prevalent, experience and skill counts more than degrees. I am in the Atlanta area and a lot of recruiters have told me that in IT, degrees are becoming LESS important, not more.

I agree with /u/blaek_. For these prices you could sign up for 3-5 courses A MONTH at ed2go and get everything offered plus a certificate from an actual college at the end. These prices are not competitive at all.

Thanks!

What is the best tool for testing other browsers and resolutions if you don't have a big lab of computers to test on?

Not that I have anything against free stock photos, but almost every image on that page had a crappy filter on it. In my mind, stock photos are clean, technically polished photos that are shot in a way that will allow a designer to add their own crappy filters, if wanted. I'd rather pay to not have an image that looks like it was shot with a 1960's point and shoot.

Wow! That's a lot less code and accomplishes the same thing. I had no idea you could do some of those things.

Are there any disadvantages to using an event listener?

Question,

I added return false; to my getInfo() function and that solved the problem. Does that also remove the issue of having an inline handler in my HTML? I'm still new to Javascript terminology and I want to make sure I understood you properly.

Tits_McCoder

Hey, I implemented your suggestions and it worked. Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it.

Tits_McCoder

Thanks for the detailed reply. I am trying your suggestions now.

Tits_McCoder

Well that's embarrassing.

Tits_McCoder

They do that now.

Tits_McCoder

Actually yes. Good point.

Tell us what types of projects you want feedback on.

Interesting! I will have to try that out. Thanks!

Dishes are always worse the next day too. Bummer.

I agree with you that highlighting all equivalent rows makes more sense than highlighting the individual row on each column. If you're coding responsively so that the columns stack on a smaller screen, it would be useful since there isn't a visual way to match up the rows if they aren't horizontal to each other.

Tits_McCoder

It looks very slick. That said, I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that each row highlights on mouse over. If an element highlights on mouse over, the expectation is that something will happen when you click. In this case, a click does nothing. I definitely do not like the wiggle of the column on mouse over, but I might like that more if the distance it moved were greater, so it really made the column stand out.

The columns don't "break" well. On a smaller screen the columns stacked vertically, and the top part of the following column covers the button of the column above it. Definitely a usability issue.

Tested on Chrome and IE 10 with the same issue.

Tits_McCoder

Thanks! I am going to try that later tonight and see if I can get it going.

The first problem I want to solve, and perhaps I should just ask it as a separate question, is how do I allow the user to add new form fields and then account for those additions in my calculations?
