I tried using it but I guess built in pink noise channel is different from the media channel. For example Peugeot’s infotainment system automatically mutes the sound when I pause hence the pink noise gets muted, if I were to unmute or turn the volume up it plays the music instead of the apps pink noise. iOS forces play command no matter if the player app (in my case Apple Music) is closed completely or not, it routes the play command to the music player app rather than your app. Also I saw that someone else asked if it was working with carplay and in my case answer is no, pink noise comes from the phones speaker instead of the cars speakers.

Edit: I will try with my old corolla which has an aftermarket HU and a custom sound system in the weekend.

In addition, if there ain’t any usb plugged in and it is still happening, I would try to update the system with a USB stick. OS most likely got corrupted so fresh install of the update would fix it. A quick google search with your model name and update would lead you to a proper forum or guide.

Note: If you are not a tech savvy or comfy with modding and such, I would not recommend this since it could hard brick the device and could cause your device to not function in any way.

I am no expert on the matter, but it seems like a software issue. If there is any usb plugged in or something remove and try again. Seems like it is trying to update the recovery partition while booting up. It could be automatically triggered if a usb device or something is plugged in while in a boot sequence. If it is not it could be that somehow your brother might have tried to flash a new software or something and f*ed up the recovery partition. In the worst case the eMMC might have failed due to physical degradation.
