McDavid won the ConnSmythe [playoffs mvp] while loosing the finals. Thats only happened 6 times and it was the first in 20 years that it happened.
Tofu_Analytics
100% McDavid. Josh Allen is a perrential MVP candidate for sure and an amazing player but he is nowhere near top players all time and isn't even considered as the best player of his generation with multiple guys like Mahomes and Lamar and even Safford being close company.
McDavid is handly the best player of the last 10 years and is in top 5 conversations with Gretsky, Crosby, Lemeuix, Howe, Orr etc. He is easily the most technically skilled player to have ever touched the ice [players have just gotten better Gretsky was better vs his competition and gap wise, McDavid is just objectively ahead totally] and while Allen is an MVP frontrunner this season McDavid is on pace for 252 pts which would shatter the all time record, even expecting him to cool off significantly he should post the most points of the 21st century. The more apt comparisons would be Mahomes or Rodgers but even then McDavid is arguably better

I know, I posted about Malhotra pre draft and got brigaded when the post was asking whether it makes the most sense to draft the 1C of the draft with the 3 if we thought that he'd be a better player than Reid/Smits/Rudolph

Younger CMC also had major injury concerns so that kept his value significantly lower

Dawg it's the fuckin KC LEC branded emote, if you watched him before he's always spammed emotes it's something a lot of players do wirh various keys to just keep apm high during breaks in gameplay
Tofu_Analytics
Dawg diesel is $7.75/gal by me, tickets could be $30 and people still wouldn't be able to justify going out, the entirety of economic growth is in AI and tech so unless you're making a $180k plus AI job you're apart of a severely receding economy.
Edmonton is a good example, the housing crisis in Alberta had absolute demolished the general economic wellbeing of the average person so even a great team won't sell out tickets if people cant afford groceriea.

He's a polarizing player he has a very high average player level but when he gets beat its a dramatic drop. He takes high risk positions and now that usually pays off, he's still young and an improvement this season was expected at this point in his career. The downside is that when he fails to get his position he looses the rep hard which usually results in an immediate pressure or tfl.
Tofu_Analytics
I swear to god I'd post things about players and I'd get bombarded by downvotes and BPA comments with people seemingly overlooking the fact that the post was questioning if the player was in fact the Best Player Available
Tofu_Analytics
Extended time at the top has taken it's toll, the team just isn't that good anymore and they've focused on the defense asset wise and left Mahomes with Kelce and K9 and not much else. They're a good team and he's playing pretty damn well but I can't exactly expect him to produce 5k yards with Rasheed Rice and Xavier Worthy as the top end recievers. He's still a top tier QB although just not a perrenial MVP candidate. He isn't bad he just isnt on GOAT trajectory
Tofu_Analytics
He's technically skilled as he always has been but at the end of the day hes 38 and moving up a division would mean he'd have to be in perfect shape to face off against a guy in his prime in his natural class. It's not a skill diff its just a physical stature diff that isn't a fault of Volk just how life is
Tofu_Analytics
Movsar is such an incredible fighter and while I rooted for Volk I think people will discredit just how spectacular he really is. He lost to the goat of the division that's not a shameful thing, I think unless he gets shafted by the organization he takes 1-2 fights and then gets back to a title fight that he wins vs anyone not named Volkanovski. He's not a flashy fighter but he's a dominant one and hes a good person, I'm a fan of his going forward and wish the best for him, the sport needs more people like him
Tofu_Analytics
Dude he wanted out in 24 long before the rebuild. He didnt ask for a trade but he told Rutherford he wasn't re signing
Tofu_Analytics
Dawg he said he wasn't re signing before rhe 2024 playoffs. He didn't ask for a trade but he also took the C while having 0 intentions of ever sticking around regardless of performance. He wanted out at the end of his contract and management tried stupidly to change that and fucked the process giving up 1sts for lindholm and Marcus Pettersson and pursuing more immediate returns like Chytil from trades as opposed to taking more prospects and rebuilding

It's only going to get worse because they aren't raising wages and fuck I'm not working a $20/hr job in an absurdly high cost of living city that has shit hours and tough work.
Unions also need to do better, it's a nearly 6 year wait for the pipe fitters for their apprenticeship even if you have a trade school degree and years of experience. I'm going to now be able to graduate with an electrical engineering degree quicker than the waitlist for the union now that I've gone back to school.
Employers will always be dogshit and pay the least. Unions are mandatory for livable wages near me and they just don't cover enough of the labor force to raise wages for everyone. They should cover more people but they don't want to expand and lower their cba wages for themselves so they dont.

Scottie Barnes, for as much shit as he gets for his less impressive offense [still very good though] he is an incredibly athletic, smart and positional 6'8" wing that can guard 1-4 and he has a 39.5" vertical [actually accurate compared to the wildly speculative Jordan claims, his was high but def not 48"]. Either way hes about as close as you can get to peak Kawhi in today's league, unfortunately for him Wemby exists but with voter fatigue he might be the #2 to get a DPOY although realistically I can't see anyone but Wemby winning it

I swear to god the NBA community goes on and on about how they hate foul baiting, flopping, whining and complaining from guys like SGA but the second a player calls it out they turn around and bitch about that as well. Is this not the exact stuff we want as fans, like aren't we all wanting more actual competitiveness, guys to go out play hard defense get in each others face and play meaningful regular season basketball. Like people go and complain all offseason about how SGA and fouls are ruining the game but then rush to defend it as soon as someone goes against it. Ya'll make no sense Luka for sure had a solid game, 28-8-7 is a great statline, he also averaged 34-8-8 on better shooting last season as well so Yax did a solid job especially as a 1st game rookie.

No I 100% think that Bron passes up MJ that isn't the same at all.
Kyrie and Pippen were both 2nd options but had very different roles. Kyrie was purely a bucket, Bron still managed the playmaking and Kyrie just had to cook and make buckets. Pippen on the other hand was a lockdown defender as well as a secondary scorer.
Both of them had time as a #1 option while in their prime. Kyrie had his peak year with Boston and was a great player but clearly wasn't an MVP caliber guy, he was an amazing player but there were 3 guards with better seasons than him [Steph, Harden, Dame]. Pippen on the other hand finished 3rd in MVP voting [Behind Hakeem and Robinson] 4th in DPOY [Behind Hakeem, Robinson and Mutombo], and was by far the best forward in the league ahead of Malone, Kemp, Barkley and others.
Pippen was an MVP caliber player and Kyrie never was, people have this crazy view of Kyrie being this all time great, dude was an amazing 2nd option and a key part of the most impressive ring in NBA history but that doesn't make him a top 10 pg of all time. Pippen is definitively a top 10 SF all time there's a huge difference.

Honestly I would much more realistically see ya'll trading for one of Rossi or Petey from us in Van. Rossi would be a much more affordable 2c that would fit with the timeline better at 24 now, Petey would be a much larger production add but one that would represent a much more determined attitude to go all in with the assets likely needed.
It's kinda an odd position since I think that Hage is definitely a championship 2c at some point in his career, the problem is that could very realistically take another 3 years to materialize and you guys do desperately need center depth now. Honestly I'd love to see you guys trade for Petey, just say fuck it all in and I'd be able to watch EP40 play meaningful hockey in the prime of his career for a team I somewhat like as well. He'd also be a great add to alleviate the PK load from Suzuki.

Brother Volkov is in hw I dont think he can cut to 155
Tofu_Analytics
You have to be on crack, Pippen finished 3rd in mvp voting and was a 7x all NBA 10x All defensive player with multiple DPOY candidate years.
Kyrie never earned a singular MVP vote his entire career nor was he ever All NBA 1st team. He was a 3x All NBA
Tofu_Analytics
Why is there an Eagle cheering them on in the clouds, don't they know that the Eagles are in fact another team that plays against the Rams?
Tofu_Analytics
Because the Cavs weren't a super team in the slightest. Neither Kyrie nor Kevin love were All-Stars in 16' let alone All-NBA players. Jr Smith is a solid player but averaged 12.4 far away from his 18-5-3 that won him 6 man. TT finishing 10th in 6 man was the only award votes anyone received on that roster.
By this logic the 16' Hawks [not the 4x all star 1st seed 15' team] or the 18' 76'ers with Rookie Ben Simmons and no Butler are also "Super Teams". Brother Kyrie shot 32% from 3 and Timofy Mozgov started at center that isn't a super team.

Is it fixable 100%
By you however, absolutely not
To fix this you'd need to remove the ferrule, clean up the tennon, replace the ferrule then turn it back down to size, face and re tip. You have to have a lathe and more importantly know what you are doing to get this fixed. This would be a dedicated cue repair job, honestly it isn't a hard job per-say, however, making money in the cue business is quite difficult so I could 100% see someone charging +$100 for the job just because the tools and equipment and shop space are that expensive, not necessarily because it is a particularly challenging job or time consuming. It is very interesting that there is such a void at the head of the tennon though, while I'm not perfect with my boring depth on the female end of the ferrule I will often over fill the female end of the ferrule with epoxy, groove the tennon and then push till the void is completely filled with my quickset epoxy and then turn off the excess spread. This should leave no voids and reduce the likelyhood of cracking at a weak spot. That all said this looks to be an older and brittle ferrule anyways so replacement isn't a bad thing at all. As long as this isn't some exotic ivory/bone ferrule [which it doesn't look like it to my eyes] then a new ivorite/phenolic ferrule will be quite the nice feel for you.

How the actual fuck do you consider the 16 cavs a Super team in any way shape or form
Dawg McDavid is 29 and solidly top 5 all time, dude is on pace for the greatest season of all time and he's legit getting better, he has another 4-5 peak years, he could legit retire with like 6 MVPs
