I dig your thinking, so I'll throw you a few bones. My interpretation is that There are very few "facts", if any, that don't rely on making unproven assumptions. That's why almost everything in science is considered theory. When you get into something as deep as consciousness, you fall into the more hypothetical, philosophical stuff.

Free will vs determinism. Materialism vs anti-materialism. Duality vs non-duality. The way you interpret those concepts will shape what you view as "fact" or "knowledge", or consciousness, or truth.

I remember thinking I would fix myself after a few different trips, but the afterglow eventually wears off and you usually go back to your old self within months or so. Same goes for the antidepressant effects of psychedelics - you may think your depression is cured, but ultimately you'll likely notice that it resurfaces in weeks or months. If you ever get lost again, don't be afraid to come back and visit psychedelics. There's nothing wrong with revisiting what you've learned.
