They wouldn't be doing fiber, that would be a plant extension of hardline coaxial, with possibly an amplifier as well. And yes, that gets VERY expensive, quick. That amp alone costs a ton of money, that they would never recoup from a single address cable bill.

Condos are always a bit unique. If the condo is laid out side by side, like a duplex/quadplex, the line would come from the tap to building somewhere near the power meters. If it is more of an MDU style (multi-story or 6+ unit apartment building), then there may be a lockbox either outside near the utilities, or for very tall buildings, there would be a junction/tap located in a maintenance closet, every few floors.

Why would you even consider "throwing it away"?

Travel-Upbeat

That clip is so short, and it's not making money off of it, so it would be dismissed as fair use.

The biggest challenge for you is that Comcast doesn't do wall fishes, and in a condo, that is probably what you're going to want. If you need to have the cables fished down into the walls, you will have to hire an electrician to do that.

If you failed to wipe it, then that Gmail data would be automatic from the technicians just powering on your phone. The moment it gets a signal, there will be Google activity in the background, even if the first thing they did was notice it wasn't wiped, and then wiped it. It would still register activity for the few minutes it took for them to power it on and start the wipe, because Gmail runs automatically in the background.

Yellow with occasional green means your line wasn't completely cut, but you are having an upstream issue. There is a chance you have been hit with an ingress filter. This happens if someone has bad/loose wiring that is affecting the neighborhood -- a tech will put on a filter to save the neighborhood, while that customer will need to call in to have the issue diagnosed and repaired so the filter can be removed.

The unity gain wouldn't stop it from working, but it would prevent them from getting mid-split upload speeds. It would only stop them getting service if it had somehow become unplugged. I had an all-services-out customer once that was throwing away a freezer full of food when I arrived... It took me 5 seconds to realize they had tripped the breaker... And their amplifier shared that outlet.

That happens sometimes, or "password1", but that's only if they had a technician come to their house that may have done that in person for some reason. If a technician hasn't been to the home to touch that specific Gateway, then it would have been changed to the WiFi password recently. Since they did a factory reset, that would no longer be the case, anyway.

One customer being out is NOT an "outage". Your entire neighborhood/node being down is an outage.

I have nothing helpful to add other than that's an awesome movie.

Have you noticed the lights on the modem doing anything outside the usual when you are having problems? Assuming you have a somewhat recent one, you should normally have a solid white light when it's working.

Comcast is very limited on what they can do about WiFi, since a dozen factors about the house/environment and customer owned equipment can be at fault. Do you have any devices that are connected straight to the router with an Ethernet cable?

That's why I feel like something was lost in translation. Like they were trying to ask that, but they were getting it all wrong.

Travel-Upbeat

They didn't explicitly say it was YOUR lifetime -- It was Ozzy's lifetime, all along.

If they had only tied it to Kieth Richards instead...

Travel-Upbeat

Thay had to abandon CableCard/QAM Channels to reallocate RF spectrum for Gigabit+ internet speeds. CableCard was holding them back.

Travel-Upbeat

The hotspot doesn't connect to your account in any way.

Travel-Upbeat

It was probably just an effort to see if they have multiple people at home using the Internet at once, so they could use that in assessing their speed needs, but it got lost in translation somewhere.

Travel-Upbeat

They would have sent it to you because you are subscribed to a speed tier that requires that model, and since it is free and included in your package, that's why you received it.

I'm just pointing out that due dates exist for a reason. Any time you try to make a payment arrangement after that date, then you are asking that company a favor that they are under NO obligation to grant. It's hard to be sympathetic that you expect credits for them not giving you extensions that I sure as hell haven't received. Promotions and sales tactics are just a way to justify being angry that they aren't doing you the late payment favors you want.

Travel-Upbeat

I have a payment arrangement. It's the due date of every month.

Travel-Upbeat

Easy. Pay your bill in full each month on the due date, and stop begging for special treatment. That's what I do. Then, you wouldn't have even been on the phone/chat in the first place.

Travel-Upbeat

This is the solution. That password is for the WiFi, but they also made a recent change for security in which your admin password is also that same WiFi password.

If you are signed up for 1200/400, you weren't supposed to be sent an XB10 in the first place. They are only meant for FDX symmetrical customers, due to limited supply, plus they would cause massive interference with any X1 QAM video boxes. A lot of technicians are removing them on sight, just because they were given them by mistake (as you were).

Travel-Upbeat

The XB10 is only given to FDX DOCSIS 4.0 customers. There are NO DOCSIS 4.0 modems a customer can buy to replace it. So you would have downgraded to DOCSIS 3.1 speeds, and hobbled yourself, not getting the package for your area. There is no customer owned replacement for an XB10, only downgrades to lower speed equipment. The cm3000 cannot deliver DOCSIS 4.0 speeds, so is not a suitable replacement. And since it came out only a few months ago, there is no "history" of bridge mode issues.
