Working on a longfic for a Big Bang right now (so it won’t be out til January!) but I’d say it’d be: “This fic contains potentially hazardous amounts of stupidity, pining, and Curtis Barrett. Proceed at your own risk.” 🤣

Yes! The CG/VFX people work so hard! (Sorry to reply to such an old comment — down a Reddit rabbit hole reading about Wildwood because I’m getting hyped as the release date approaches lol) One of my friends worked on this movie and her entire job was digitally (but still by hand!) removing the visible rigs from the puppets or cleaning up things (like for example she mentioned having to re-draw a character’s shadow once, because it was messed up in some frames). She had to do painstakingly detailed work frame-by-frame to help polish the movie and help make it look so good!

I feel like there’s no ‘shame’ in stop-motion being aided with the use of CGI to help clean things up and make it shine, and I also think the work being done by the digital artists should be praised along with the puppeteers!

I just wanted to say thank you to any of my regular readers for your patience during my (sort of) hiatus!

Please just know that something big (and hopefully good 😅) is taking shape in the background! Even though I’m not actively publishing anything at the moment, I am working very hard on a novel-length, Troy-centric fic that will be coming out in January as part of a Big Bang event (and will feature amazing art from some super talented artists!)

Oh no, I’m going insane because I read that fic recently but I’m digging through my history and cannot find it for the life of me! 😩

I started writing one back in June, but I only published tha first chapter (there are only going to be 2) 😅 The second chapter is started and I do intend to eventually finish it, but I got sucked into writing a fic for a bang event. So it’s incomplete for now, but will have a happy ending!

For the Ryan/Fabian lovers, What Makes a Man by Sirens_scales is simply wonderful!

A longer fic this time, for #TeamKyric! Your Guardian by Lisiface is a written with so much love and care for (and understanding of!) the characters

Okay seriously though: It’s essentially impossible for me to pick a favorite moment, but I’m gonna share one that I feel is an underrated one: In TLG, when Ilya is having a particularly hard day and Troy shows up at his hotel room to hang out and watch a movie, because he could tell Ilya needed it. I love that moment because I feel like in RM, there’s a big focus on the ways Ilya is a supportive friend to Troy, so I love seeing from Ilya’s POV that Troy is just as supportive right back!

And headcanons. Hmm… Well, I love your singing one! I also love the idea of Troy being awful and awkward with babies, but surprisingly good with children. And I love the idea that he takes Harris’ last name when they get married, so he can fully separate himself from his asshole father once and for all! (Someday I will write a fic about that, I swear! lol)

40k words into my fic for the GCU big bang, and going a little insane with not being able to post it for 3 more months 🤣🤪

Everyone who pre-writes longfics regularly is so strong and I salute you!

God, I hope so! It’s unbelievably exhausting to have a main character of the book series — who is also going to have a significant role in the show as a protagonist — seen as a villain by such an overwhelming chunk of the fandom 😅

Yes! This is such a good tip! That helps weed out the (MANY 😅) fics where they’re in the background — because if the character’s name is in the summary, it’s a safe bet that they play a big role in the fic haha

Ooh! My time to shine! 🤣 I’ve got several Troy/Harris recs!

First off, if you don’t mind self-recs, I write almost exclusively Troy-centric fics, most with a focus on Troy/Harris and some with more of a Troy & Ilya friendship focus :) (I have them grouped into ‘series’ by those themes, so I linked those!) My current WIP is also Troy-centric, but it’s also super heavy and has MCD, so if you go to my profile and check that one out, tread with caution 😅

Izolda is another writer with lots of great Troy/Harris fics! And harrisdrover has lots of spicy Troy/Harris action! DeathSoundsDecent is known for writing lots of wonderful Troy angst/whump, if that’s your jam! (I’ve heard great things about their fic Trade or Traitor, I just haven’t gotten around to reading it yet!)

And Coyote Running by sunshinydayss81 is my favorite Troy/Harris longfic I’ve read (though I’ll confess to not reading enough of those! I tend to use most of my free time writing 😅)

We LOVE Owlbear’s Rest! Our Pathfinder group plays there regularly, but we also sometimes just go to chill and do board games. Very cozy, good drinks and food, very chill and nice staff.

I’ve already told you before but I’ll tell you again — this is AMAZING!!!!!

I agree with this wholeheartedly but I’m always afraid to say it because I’m afraid of being attacked 😅 But I will add that I have seen several people say that after reading RM, they wish they’d read it before TLG because it would have been better, and I have had two friends I convinced to read RM before TLG thank me profusely after the fact haha

TLG can be read before RM and still be understood and appreciated, but it’s very clear when reading that RM was meant to be read first. (For example, to this day, I cannot imagine (TLG spoilers!) reading Ilya telling Shane “btw, I came out to Troy Barrett” and not being like “Wait, you’re just gonna TELL US about it? You’re not gonna SHOW IT?!” Haha there are so many gaps in TLG that would feel so weird without RM!)

Still writing my bang fic and nothing else 🤣

At this rate it’s gonna seem like I dropped off the face of the planet of four months, then BAM, I’m back with a 100k word longfic complete with awesome art lol
