No! I’m coming from Spain so I’m not a US resident nor my insurance covers rental cars

Hi! Can I ask you how much was the insurance through Enterprise? Did you get the insurance once you were there to pick up the car? I was thinking of doing the same but I want to know what to expect

Hi there!

Sounds exciting! I would also do option A or B rather than C because although the south of Spain is beautiful, you want to make the most of the trip by going to a big city.

I have never been to Madrid so I couldn’t tell you which option, I would recommend you look for a 4 day itinerary online and see which one resonates with you most, maybe if you like architecture I would definitely go to Barcelona to discover Gaudi, but if you like museums maybe you want to go to Madrid to see El Prado (although this would take you a big part of the day and maybe you would rather do something else).

I think that 3 nights sounds like a good plan! I would definitely save the hike for Granada, there are beautiful places (maybe not so beautiful as in Canada so keep that in mind 😉) but you can rent a car and drive to hikes such as:
-La vereda de la Estrella (I think this is pretty easy as the most part of it is pretty plain but beautiful, it has some nice views of the Mulhacen which is the tallest mountain in the peninsula)
-Los cahorros de Monachil (also beautiful with bridges although I personally prefer la vereda de la estrella)
-You can even go up to Sierra Nevada (it’s a 45 minutes drive from Granada), the road may look a little scary since it has a lot of turns but I have never had a problem and while you are there go to Area Recreativa Fuente Alta, where there is a nice hike with views to the Veleta.

I hope this helped you! If you have any more questions let me know, sorry if my english was a little sketchy 😊

It’s a home exchange, so you can’t really choose, the accommodation is “free” but you have to adapt to it.

I tried doing it with Enterprise but on their website they said that there are no cars available choosing a DTLA location, I tried multiple locations and it shows the same message

I think that although shops are starting to change the stores to the fall collection, they will have summery clothes. Stores like Inditex (Zara, Pull&Bear, etc), the can also check out El Corte Ingles or shops like Primark if the want something cheaper

Trick-Let-1486

I wouldn’t mind doing it but the only ones I could find downtown were Enterprise, I’ve heard mixed opinions about them

Trick-Let-1486

Btw! I have been to all of them except for Madrid! I was never really attracted to it

Hi! That is so cool! I assume that you are talking about 14 to 16 days. Based on what you said about relaxing and scenic I would do maybe Mallorca, Seville and Albufeira ( I would definitely check Granada, absolutely stunning). Barcelona, Madrid or Lisbon are cities that are beautiful but I wouldn’t consider them relaxing and also given your days I would prefer to really explore everything with a calm pace (Madrid has a lot of stuff to do and it’s really big).

Mallorca and Sevilla will be easily conected by flights and Sevilla and Albufeira probably are conected by flights (Faro Airport) but I would recommend if you really want to explore the Algarve to rent a car. If you are just staying in Albufeira, I would take it out of the list and stay in Granada, it’s beautiful and less touristy, it also has some beautiful beaches!
