No one who would be worried about student loans is going to a private undergrad at full cost.

You could easily flip it and see that workers are parasites harvesting the labor and resources of the owner put in by demanding wages for jobs the owner created. That take, like yours, is dumb.

The government is a woefully inefficient administrator of aid and creates poverty traps with their regulations more so than any charity program. Charities aren’t cutting off the single mom because suddenly her income is too high to qualify, that’s the government.

TrumpCardStrategy

Yeah i read it controlled wage gap is $0.01 why do people even bring up the wage gap at all at this point

TrumpCardStrategy

so there’s $.01 of discrimination we need to work on, then feminism should move on from pay gap as an issue because equality has been achieved?

TrumpCardStrategy

Can you expand on the “equal pay for equal work” thing. I keep hearing the $.77 for every dollar a man makes stat, but that stat isn’t reflective of “equal work”.

Very interesting comment

Now control for variables

TrumpCardStrategy

Please don’t use the term “little” in a derogatory fashion, it perpetuates problematic stereotypes.

So you get to live the life of leisure while your boyfriend bears the brunt of working under capitalism… good for you i guess.

Well it may make you feel better to know MD/DO education is too rigorous to coast through. The bar is so high to even get in most of these types are weeded out before they even start (usually they will opt for some other less rigorous program, from dentistry down through the nursing to NP route). Then half way through medical school is the standardized STEP 1 exam which comprehensively tests your medical knowledge you’ve accumulated your first 2 years. If you dont pass that you can’t continue, later on there is also a STEP 2 exam which is the same deal. After that you have your residency training then Board exams which you have to pass to practice in your medical specialty. There is no coasting or getting passed because teachers are sick of you in medical school and even if that did happen the standardized exams would block them from ever progressing to be a practicing physician. Are there bad doctors, sure but your average bad doctor isn’t bad due to a lack of education/knowledge they are bad due to other factors.

Trans men are men. Sure they were socialized as women, but attending women only support groups because of that doesn’t seem appropriate and would pose my harm for all parties than any potential benefit. That trauma can be dealt with in 1 on 1 therapy. A group of women aren’t going to understand the added dynamics of gender based trauma unique to a trans man pre transition. A trans man is going to be the odd one out in such a group because fact is they are a man in a women’s only group.

All valid points, but corporate tax evasion isn’t being done by publicly traded companies. Tax avoidance =! tax evasion.

Corporate charity arms typically aren’t the same ones being asked for checkout donations. (Ronald McDonald House is the exception to the rule, but it’s actually a very well run charity compared to most even non-corporate charities). It’s typically medical and hunger focused charities.

The art thing isn’t as much of a loophole as it seems, the IRS has inhouse appraisers who review appraisers and has a team to conduct audit you so you can’t just make up numbers. Wealthy people aren’t going to risk outright tax fraud. If that painting was deemed to be worth millions then there is a very high likelihood it will be in that ballpark if it went to auction (sounds like a rothko maybe, so wouldnt be surprising that it was worth so much)

TrumpCardStrategy

No I’m serious, look it up. It’s tax fraud to do so. The IRS is very good at enforcing the tax laws as written, and current tax law doesnt allow you to take customer checkout donations and directly use that donation to offset your own income.

TrumpCardStrategy

Advertising how much money they helped raise =! a write off

and they will never say it’s money they gave, they will say our customers raised $$$ for charity, yes they still get that clout for being the conduit but it should be completely separate from money they are giving directly. There’s been a few. if scandals of companies who fraudulently used checkout donations as their own, which goes to show it’s not normal or allowed.

TrumpCardStrategy

Donations you make, not ones customers make themselves at checkout. The only way you could do that is if you also claim that donation as income first then donate it, and in that case it’s a wash or leaves your worse off

TrumpCardStrategy

You really think the IRS let’s that happen… really?

TrumpCardStrategy

Doesnt actually work that way

TrumpCardStrategy

check-out donations cant be used to offset income

TrumpCardStrategy

It doesn’t work that way. Trust me the IRS dont play

TrumpCardStrategy

Check-out donations can’t be used to offset income. Choice of charity is a different matter

TrumpCardStrategy

check-out donations can’t be used to offset income

TrumpCardStrategy

How do tax breaks factor in?

TrumpCardStrategy

please explain how this “free tax break” works
