lmao. and testosterone in males? young males incarceration rates?

or we just enjoying double standards today?

Human's aren't reason machines. study some psychology or more philosophy. Your own comment is an emotional outburst. Be better

that's what mine kept saying as I hobbled along on a torn hip for a year. then the 1st sports med said the same. then the secpnd sports med said "too mamy fingers in the pot" 8 weeks of PT opening the tear further and further to the point of making it worse.

then I got my own hip specialist, explained the symptoms and they are like "yeah, your labrum is likely torn"

lo and behold.

TryptaMagiciaN

you read that as an excuse and not a condemnation?

TryptaMagiciaN

80 yrs? that's nothing. Since my 7th greatgrandfather came in the late 17th century, we Americans have killed women and children. Most often of indigenous or african lineage. I've read the wills of my ancestors that contained the human beings they owned.

The state of Israel somewhat pales in comparison considering the atrocities commited by Americans throughout our history, brief as it is.

My catholic MIL had to vote for Paxton bc Talrico said God was non-binary... she is a catholic.. she believes in a trinity.. which is non-binary

these people do not think clearly anymore if they ever did

TryptaMagiciaN

hard to say. let them get the money first and find out

TryptaMagiciaN

Have you read Schopenhauer's WWR? It informs much of the philosophical background of Jung's work.

alternatively, there is Guatarri, who I havent read, but I hear interesting things

I'm not sure. In my experience, my racist family became increasingly isolated as years passed. They already lose many social relationships. It's more the living in fear just doesn't itself to their forming. But this was my family dynamic. None of my family would ever go to a rally for any political candidate. I think they are just severely misguided and scared of government.

They really think government is bad. That ks the underlying base assumption. Ive even talked about socialized healthcare and they can understand and support the idea so long as it isn't the government doing it.

it's insane because the government is just people. they could be the government, we all can be. but in our reality the government is an organization co-opted by the capitalist class. The government is an enemy. Not the idea of government (which is what our families have been convinced is the problem) but our specific government. And while both sides are not the same, that is only really true domestically. We still exported US imperialism pretty evenly across the board despite which side.

So I think that is part of it. In nearly all of my experience though, Im looking at people who were traumatized as children that use blaming others as a defense mechanism against pains they have associated with group 'x'.

Like, I had a group of friends who were likely conservative only because they had all experienced child molestation at their school. They then grew up vulnerable and their emotional dysregulation was taken advantage of by our economy and culture. they were told they feel afraid and angry because of immigrants. And if you have been traumatized, you often struggle to consciously acknowledge it. so again, looks for new external causes

Makes me wonder if it feels so pronounced because of media. Glad (but not glad) to know it isn't unique to the time I was growing up. I saw that post going around a couple days ago about the Eisenhower 56' republican platform. and I think the only real "reason" (serious reason not wrapped up in emotion) I entertained conservativism is that the sorts of policies geared toward's helping americans do better if we are responsible with money. Things like taxing majority of wealth over a certain amount to eliminate many social issues before we ever even entertain the idea of individual billionaires.

And I look at idea like degrowth or even anti-consumerism in general and see a small bit of that mentality that people like my grandad had.

then again, he was also quietly racist 🤷‍♂️

A big part of it for me was being wrapped up in the JBPeterson manbubble right put of highschool until he "debated" Zizek and I realized that I had been just been getting yanked around by my emotions.

Im reading a book right now called the Nutmeng's Curse and the author is what you could call the opposite sort of personality and political perspective as JBP but he does address what I found to be a real issue at 19 and still do to some extent at nearly29.. modern perspective of the world as inert resource has exhausted the meaning out of life. Most of us that do not become caught up in the comparitive meaning (keeping up with the jones') simply withdraw into loneliness.

I still cannot figure out what it really means to be socialist in our country. What does it look like?

Anyway, thanks for your reflecting and paying attention to the world around you. At least in sharing perspectives we can feel slightly less insane

Picking a side? What do you think that means?

Like what side do you think Im on? Would you suggest I not participate in voting at all? Then why not just skip participating in society? Just don't go to school or the doctor, don't bother with news or the weather, don't bother making friends or building a community.

What about casting a ballot makes all that impossible? What about casting a ballot means Im choosing a side?

Why are you so eager to paint things as being this or that? What is your goal?

TryptaMagiciaN

starting? that was 8yrs ago. I started to get it at 20yo which was as early as I could I think. It is a cultural problem that is funded by billions of dollars. I dont know how we expect people to escape that.

TryptaMagiciaN

no doubt. but only one side would expect my wife to die if she need a medically necessary abortion.

TryptaMagiciaN

It isn't reasoning. It is emotions. They cannot provide sound reasons and they dissassociate from how they feels unless it is anger, often hsing substances like alcohol or cannabis to self medicate.

How do I know? Was made and raised in Texas. Voted Trump as an 18yo in 2016. Went to college for psych, met other humans and had so much of my delusions about the world shattered by hearing other people's anecdotes from all over the world. And that's the other thing, they run almost entirely on anecdotal evidence now. There was a large shift during that first trump era away from "traditional conservatism" into emotion based politics. Which required the whole "facts dont care about your feelings" mantra as they slowly had their feelings manipulated away. Now they do not know how to feel or what to think unless it comes from an authority of MAGA or from mob authority/ mass mentality.

Took me until 2018 midterms even to realize I had been lied to and fooled. And Ive voted Dem since.

What do I not like about liberal politicians? nearly everything they do to preserve capitalist hegemony. If I had to be an ist, Id probably identify as socialist. At 18, I genuinely believed Trump was just going to come in, destabilize the economy to the point the rest of the world would not be so heavily tied to US imperialism and our market's influence. I thought they would overturn Citizens United. I was foolish 18yo. And it doesn't matter what they say they will do, a child just projects what they want to happen and it blurs their perception. So instead they just helped the billionaire class and I felt like a moron.

I didn't dislike mexicans or latin americans or african americans. I had tons of implicit biases that I had to work through, but most of my favorite things about this country come from POC and always have since I was a kid. The toys I played with as a kid were made in China, Japan, Vietnam, etc. I loved the multiculturalism. Which is what imperialism feels like as you import culture from the markets you dominate.

Ironically enough, the same problems that existed before Trump still exist, and are made far worse by his administrations.

What boggles my mind is why people cannot just admit they were duped and wrong? Probably because it isn't about that anymore, those implicit biases that many of us had, have been nurtured into full blown racist fear and bigotry. It is about perceived dangerous others and the smaller the minority the better. They can make you believe anything they want about 1-3% of the population because people aren't exposed to it enough personally (they rely on anecdotes) to form opinions outside of those given to them.

That is my take having seen it and having grown up around racists

28yo male. Labral repair performed July this year.

How did I manage pre-op? before steroid injections? I didnt really. I was crawling on the floor, having panic attacks, crying and all, at work, at the hospital I work for. I remember just looking ahead at the wall and praying it would end. Injections into the joint space helped a lot. I did not have an office job, I walk nearly constantly at my job and still have the exact same pain patterns you describe. You need surgery to repair this. It is that straightforward. See if you can get your GP to refer you for steroid injections in the hip until you can get a surgery. There is also something called a diagnostic injection that they do for labral tears. Idk if UK offers that, but they may. anything you can do to speed up the process

I hear you, it is scary. terrifying really. and the lack of sleep is a torture unlike anything else I experienced.

As far as what you can do till then? treat it as a labral tear and be mindful of those motions that cause the pains. Try to take a break every hour and do breath work to try to regulate your nervous system.

See if you can write down what you are feeling as you are feeling the worst of it and show that to your doctor.

I tore mine in spring 2025 and didnt get the tear diagnosed until spring 2026 because crappy doctors didnt think someone my age could be having that level of pain without something very obvious appear on imaging.

They just dont know. They are just people. You know your pain, you know your normal, you know this isn't that. Be firm, and calm as you can be but very serious about how much it is impacting your life, enjoyment, and your job security.

Except that we have made these ideas of class into physical realities that obstruct our means to caring for our wonderful planet.

Everything is connected. There is the class of people who would love and steward earth and those that would extort from it without regard for her health. 🤷‍♂️

No one is attacking gardening. But the sign isn't wrong really.

TryptaMagiciaN

Idk. Listening to Chinese talk about an abundance of empty homes while the majority of my generation has to likely not own one (US) while also watching homelessness grow.

Maybe we should be concerned with our own country. Are you Chinese?

TryptaMagiciaN

Name him Tio

TryptaMagiciaN

Those. are. not. leftists.

Those are liberals. There is not a real political left in the United States.

and that is what happened. The billionaire class chose one of their own, Soros, and then ran the media to make it a bogeyman to turn people conservative. I just spent the last 2 decades watching it occur. Are you telling me to disregard my eyes?

TryptaMagiciaN

FDR was a Roosevelt.. granted, Trump was not the character of FDR at all. But I can see how people would think a millionaire could "drain the swamp" couple that with a big swath of young first time voting 18yo men..

TryptaMagiciaN

what about ocean acidification?

TryptaMagiciaN

wow... happy for you

TryptaMagiciaN

He really isn't. This is what books use to read like. He writes at what a college level should be (used to be). Reading his paragraph doesn't read like AI at all and I only have a bachelors. Im also not a genius. Being able to read and write like someone pre 1980 isn't being a genius. It just means you don't spend all of your time consuming junk media, it means you enoy reading and learning. This person just knows how to think clearly without rambling.

TryptaMagiciaN

he will decmare marshall law and we wont have to deal with results of midterms. That would be what they would do should Iran respond to this proposed threat

TryptaMagiciaN

Soo interesting. If you were to swap the top 2 priorities, I wonder if the goal would be to eliminate beef since land use to livestock and their food production is prettt much the biggest harm to planetary health (regarding warming) but yeah.. billions of chicken deaths. and that land makes chicken feed too.

TryptaMagiciaN

Im not. your perspective is rotting you out. I wish you health
