It was more comparing the mentality of "It rained so reservoirs should be full" and "it snows so no global warming"
However global warming has played a huge part in it. The incompetence of the water companies has massively exacerbated the situation. But its degrading climate which caused the lack of rain and heat waves. How on earth can you think it has nothing to do with this situation?

Halo Reach, although Halo as a whole could be described that way. Reach is center of the UNSC's military industrial complex and the UNSC is already stretched to it's limit and losing a genocodal war. The Covenant land on Reach and that's bad. Later after a hard fought victory a significantly larger Covenant fleet arrives and thats worse. The Covenant begin glassing Reach and the UNSC has no choice but to abandon the planet. Eventually you, Noble 6, are the last known element of resistance on, what is now a wasteland, of Humanity's last bastion before Earth.

It's not just troops and money. It's industry, both military and civilian. It's robust infrastructure. It's leading by example. It's offering something worth fighting for. At the moment people just don't have confidence the British government and state. And while that can't be blamed entirely on Labour after 14 years of the Tories doing much of the damage it is up to Labour to fix it and I don't think there's been enough to start asking for sacrfice.
