Yesterday there was a flag up on my route with outgoing mail and a quart size bag of homemade cookies. I’m always cautious so I just left a note in the box. “Not sure if these were for me or not, don’t want to steal them!”

Walking back to my truck, homeowner is on his lunch break. Takes the mail and the cookies into his house. I’m glad I didn’t take them. Also sad I thought they were for me.

I carry both as well. The horn works better than the spray. But that’s all fine and well until a dog slams into you and gets you from behind without making a sound when you’re not looking.

My T6 doesn’t smoke but sometimes the metris for my route gets used on Sundays and it pisses me off when it smells like smoke, pisses me off even more when I find smashed butts/ empty packs still in it.

I’m a mail carrier. I got bit by a dog yesterday and I went to the ER. They gave me like six vials of rabies vaccine or antibiotic or whatever. It took four shots. I have to go back tomorrow and then 3 more times over the next month for follow up doses. The nurse who administered them kept apologizing for having to repeatedly stab me with this giant needle. I told her “This is highly preferable to having rabies” cause if you’ve ever read anything about rabies, I’d rather just die than have rabies.

Dude at my station just got his 50 year pin. He’s like 83. He’s there because if he retired he’d literally have nothing else to do but like… go home, brother.
