Oh really?? What about people who need to take medications to fight their own diseases??? Get a life

Chalk me up to this thing as well, I've lost faith in changing the trend. I supplement with probiotic and usually have pretty good bowel movements, but sometimes, for whatever reason, my body needs to have loose stools or unformed ones (once a week? Heck I assume it's like that). I will never know if this is something normal or a sign that I sometimes get cross-contaminated (my wife and kids are all gluten based, and there's no way to change this thing). Guess I'll never know

I can relate. I used to own a Fenix 6 solar, decided to switch to a Forerunner 955 at the end of July. Since then, my watch frequently alerts me that my stress levels are high every time I do simple things like pushing around my cart while grocery shopping. Mind that my Fenix 6 pro never did anything like that. More specifically, during working days my levels are low, but when the weekend comes around and I do a little bit of my house chores, then my watch signals me about my high stress level

You can always take your time and enjoy some Spanish action from time to time :D

Cheers mate
I'm still leaning towards the assumption that effort over time should matter the most, still if you came up with the assumption that speed over threshold pace is the key to improve the anaerobic score on your device, I suggest you give this a few more shots to validate your opinion even more. That would be interesting, even though I still believe that those intervals would have yielded an even higher score if those 3 minute rest would have been a 3 minute "pace" or SST block. In any case, it's fair to say that a moderately trained person doesn't require 3 full minutes of rest after a 15 seconds sprint, and that pattern of work would benefit you to a little extent. If we get down to the proper definition of Anaerobic capacity, it means that you should be at 80%-90% of your maximum heart rate, then your body needs to fuel the muscles with glucose. Sprinting for only 15 seconds is usually not enough to sustain that 80%, especially if you have a fixed speed to achieve which might not be enough. If you work out regularly, you might be hitting that 80%, but not sustaining it enough to build your capacity to not rely on oxygen that much. This is why I tend to stick to the idea that Effort Over Time should be the go-to choice

Never seen high iron levels linked to celiac disease, it usually is the other way around. The flattening of the villi results in a vast malabsorption of nutrients and minerals, iron included, therefore it's quite usual for undiagnosed people to show low levels of iron in their first bloodworks.

I always listen to my body as I tax it everyday with a run session and a hiit cycling session, therefore I modulate my run according to how I feel in the morning. After years of this, I can understand if my run is going to be a fast one or a slow one after the first 5 minutes and by checking my HR after roughly 2 km. If I slept poorly and my body feels fatigued, I'll just accept whatever cadence and speed it can sustain, without pushing it.

I actually have the latest version of the app, I'm on android 🤷

I was about to post the same thing!!

I love this post, and what you wrote down is so true. I'm a runner and a cyclist, been doing those two things for a while now, but NEVER EVER participated in a running competition or event in general. When I see an event coming up, I always find the most extravagant excuses not to go, even though I know I'll be able to compete quite well.

I struggled with anorexia nervosa on my journey to weight loss, I made some terrible decisions and lost 44 pounds in less than 4 months. I don't want to bother any of you with my unhealthy habits, but I can tell you that I managed to get back to an almost normal life (I believe that EDs scar your mind in a way that you never actually fully recover from them, but you may reach a point in which you can overpower them) thanks to running and cycling, two sports I love so much. My journey switched from losing weight to be a better machine, a better "athlete", therefore I started fueling my body with what it needed as I saw my calorie expenditure going up. My suggestion is: find a physically challenging sport that you DEEPLY love, and commit to get better at it. it will blow your mind once you see the first results and you'll have no time to think about Anorexia anymore

Macro and micro nutrients should be balanced and adequate to your needs, I really am not a fan of restricting any of them, for whatever the reason. We can talk about restricting a CERTAIN type of carbs (like sugar), or fats (like trans fatty acids, or saturated fats), but each healthy macro nutrient should be included in your diet (complex carbs, good protein, unsaturated fats). Like everybody else mentioned, drastically reducing your calorie intake might work at first but it will slow your metabolism to the point that you'll plateau. Instead of being irrational, try to be smarter when you consume calories. Burning 1 kcal of protein requires 0.30 kcal, meaning that a third of it is lost JUST for digesting it.

When the overestimation is in the thousand range, something is not right. For stairs, it's a different thing, that has NEVER been reliable for me. I assume you already went through basic shrewdness such as these ones here

I've hit my daily goal of steps more than once when driving my car, sometimes even when I talk to somebody by gesticulating and sitting on my couch. I've worn so many watches to understand that this is perfectly normal that it doesn't bother me anymore, if the watch is like overestimating a few 100 steps it's quite normal, while it definitely is an issue if it gives you thousands of steps while you're not even moving.

Edit: it popped up in my companion app, finally! I confirm it's an event

If there's one thing I've never trusted my Garmin on is the amount of floors it assumes I climb. I don't know about everybody else, but my devices always acted like they never had a clue. I live on the first floor, yet again when I come back home, I get prompted with the 10 floors alert. When I go see my parents, they live on the 7th floor, still if I climb my way up there, it never shows me that I climbed 7 floors (sometimes it gets stuck on 2). To me, such measurement is totally unreliable, perhaps I'm missing something here as well

I love this question and here's my take on it: when I ride outside I usually perceive the effort to be way less than it usually is when I train indoor. I use the Favero assioma Duo outside, while I train on a TACX NEO 2T inside. Since I noticed a huge different in working out at my FTP in ERG mode instead of free riding at my FTP in Zwift, I thought that the issue could be my TACX being way too hard than it should. I decided to swap the pedals on my indoor bike and installed the Faveros, then guess what? My FTP was the same I had outdoor, around 10 watts more than Zwift calculated it to be

What you suggest is making the 55 more similar to a model that costs 150+ bucks more, which would not make sense from an economic point of view.
Ullobot
It depends on how much value that bike. From an economical standpoint, the things you need to replace are probably going to cost more than the bike itself, even if you choose pretty cheap or entry-level components. For an emotional point of view, it could be different, right?. I have an old Giant TCR bike, a team ONCE replica, it has more than 10 years, but I love it and I keep replacing components when they break. The value of the bike is around 200 bucks, most people would not bother anymore, but to me, that thing is special !
Yeah, stop panicking over nothing. it's not like they're grinding the wheat grains into flour and pouring it in your dish, they're simply harvesting, and guess what? Cutting wheat doesn't make prolamins flow in the air and magically get into your duodenum to cause a celiac reaction. You could have a full meal inside that wheat field and it would do you nothing, unless you're allergic to wheat, which would mean that you're in the wrong sub
