Where you an arriving Alien before being detained in 2019? Did you come through the border? Did your lawyer tell you if you are eligible to adjust status? Your case really moved fast

Upstairs-Singer2177

Can you please explain?

Upstairs-Singer2177

I don't really understand your explanation. Please if you can break it down , I will appreciate

Upstairs-Singer2177

Arriving alien is someone who came through the border and surrendered themselves seeking Asylum at the border and was processed, detained, then released. You can please Google what Arriving alien means. I'm just looking to see if anyone in this forum came in as Arriving alien , seeked asylum then got married to Adjust status

I had action taken Email a month ago but nothing in the document tab. I even asked Emma and they said not all emails of actions taken means a decision or rfe. She also said you might get an email of action taken if an officer simply review your case or add biometrics to your case.

From what I've read online. Reused biometrics take time to get results back because they are sent to FBI for processing which might take 2 to 4 weeks to conduct background check and name check before sending it back to uscis. While a new biometric taken at a center is directly sent to FBI same day, and the background check is conducted same day and results sent to uscis. So they get approved quicker than Reused biometrics. I haven't yet come across anyone who had biometric Reused and got approved next day or few days after.

I resubmitted my AOS to the Chicago Lockbox as well since it was rejected due to incorrect payment amount. My lawyer adjusted the amount and resubmitted. PD 02/27/25 through FedEx, delivered and signed by uscis agent on 02/28/25 . Up till now I haven't received a receipt notice. The wait is really frustrating.

Upstairs-Singer2177

I only found out when I received the receipt notice in the mail from uscis.

Upstairs-Singer2177

Yes it was delivered and the mail guy failed to scan the package. I stressed for weeks 🙃

Upstairs-Singer2177

Update on my post. My lawyer finally received the rejection package after 20 days that I received the notice in the mail. The rejection was simply because the amount was more than what was to be paid. My lawyer resubmitted today 02/27 with FedEx and not uspc. It's meant to be delivered tomorrow 02/28. Will keep updating you guys

Rejection and denial are two different things. A denial letter means your case has been reviewed a decision made to denial your application. While a rejection is due to improper filling or mistakes made during filing .

Upstairs-Singer2177

I received a rejection notice for my AOS 15 days ago and up till now my lawyer has not received the rejection package to know exactly why it was rejected. The lawyer is not making any effort. I'm thinking of just forgetting about this lawyer and refile again with a more serious lawyer. This will be more than 2k I lost in filing the i-485, i-765 and i-131. I don't know if I should wait for the rejection package or just file another new AOS. I will need to request for new medical exam documents i-693 from the medical facility in which I did the medical exam since it doesn't have an expiration.

Upstairs-Singer2177

I also received 3 rejection notices for the i-485, i-765 and i-131 with same receipt number. I hope u understand me now. My lawyer has not received the rejection package yet and it's been 2 weeks now since the notice was sent to me

Upstairs-Singer2177

What do you mean? I don't understand you. I have only one Receipt number on all my rejected notices, which are i-485, i-765 and i-131

Upstairs-Singer2177

It's been 2 weeks now since I received the rejection receipt notice but my lawyer has not receive the entire package back. He is telling me that if he hasn't received the rejected package by now, it means the application was accepted and that he has experienced it several times with other clients. I'm not really sure and that's why I need to check with uscis if he's doing it. He is assuming

Upstairs-Singer2177

This is the reason I find it weird. When I enter the receipt number in the system, it says invalid receipt number. Try again. I will speak to a live agent by Monday and provide him/her the receipt number. I'm getting so frustrated

Upstairs-Singer2177

Usps is a mess these days . I almost loose my mind. My tracking stayed stuck on in transit to the next facility for 3 weeks and nothing changed . My advice now is , do not send any important mail or package through Usps. FedEx and ups is the best and secured

Upstairs-Singer2177

Emma told me that they can't find anything in the system with my info. Telling me to check again after 30 days from the date of filing .

Upstairs-Singer2177

How did all these happen? Was it only by text that you got all these biometric appointment?

Upstairs-Singer2177

I sent money order. It's just crazy .

Upstairs-Singer2177

Wow. So you did submit your application together with the form to receive text messages? My lawyer didn't complete the form to receive text messages. It's crazy. I don't even know what to do than just wait. I contacted uscis chat agent online and they checked and told me there is no case found yet . Said I should wait up till 30 days which is pretty soon. It's really frustrating.

Upstairs-Singer2177

I sent mine to the uscis lockbox chicago illinois 01/16 . I keep hearing they are taking 30 days
