The assignment has nothing to do with the unit of meters then, just the scale of 1:100. You have to naturalize your ability to read off a number and interpret the units naturally. A door opening height being 2110mm and 211cm and 2,1m should come by understanding of the measurement itself and not confuse you as they are magnitudes of 10x each other.

Can you try to explain what you mean by this? It makes little to no sense to me. At 1:100 1cm on paper = 1m in real life, but it also means 1mm on paper = 10cm in real life. All you do is add two zeroes (or move your decimal point two steps to the right) to convert it. I don’t see why you’re hung up on converting everything to meters.

If you measure things at a human scale like the step riser example you describe it in mm because you’ll need millimeter precision, even if 165mm and 0,165m is actually the same length. When describing room height you’d also use mm as you might set out slab thicknesses along with free height so the floor might be 365mm thick and give a free room height of 2635mm for a gross floor to floor height of 3000mm or 3m easily set out by a framer on site that won’t actually be handling mm precision anyways.

If you show site setback borders on a site plan it would be relevant in my local rules to describe it at a 4m setback on the plan and not 4000mm as the rule is set at that precision.

But why you think 1:100 relates directly to meters as units are confusing to me.
