In MY ideal world, the economy would be wiped and everyone would be on the same economy. Theres some nuance to items that should be saved or whatever, but id far rather lose my bank than lose all the accomplishments on my account, including my veteran capes.

That said, i also dont have a fuckin phat set or anything that would thouroughly piss me off, and would prefer a GP income balance before that day, but none the less, reduce gp income by 80%, wipe the economy, let everyone play together and have the same economy.

(i know that would cause issues with people still having 99s but cant solve every issue in one post.

Point 1: this is perfect. If reignited is meant to be the new "main" account, letting me shelf my veteran stats for later is a perfect solution to letting access either without giving up either.

Point 2: I love the idea of carrying on specific points of progress into a new account, having a special veteran only cosmetic max cape, and different capes and titles showing your dedication to the game is a welcome one. I would only have the basic max cape as im not 120s or comp cape or anything, but that makes me happy for those who have earned those grand achievements.

Point 3: I like the idea of removing reignited only worlds, that was a weird idea in the first place for me since ironmen and group ironmen dont have their own worlds, why would a new custom game mode have it that the others dont?

Point 4: I appreciate the fact the grouping is being reconsidered after a grace period, similar to how ironmen were. I regularly pvm with my ironman friend and would hate to lose the ability to play with him(even if he FAR outgears me as a main lol) just because I wanted to start in a new economy or restart with the new players.

Point 5: thank you for the clarification on subscriber numbers excluding osrs players. This helps put things into perspective for those who look at currently active players and think thats the total players entirety.

Point 6: it very much still feels like being pressured to restart, but thats not nessicarly a bad thing when used in addition to all of the changes planned to both reignited as well as the game itself. I made a GIM 3 months ago roughly, and have LOVED the early game and exploring all the new content since I last made my main account. However that doesnt mean its a good idea to push people out of their comfort and effort in current grinds. These changes to reignited help me rethink of reignited as an addition rather than a replacement.

Point 7: 100% need to include previous purchases of cosmetics and bank space and the like if we're able to swap between veteran and reignited on one account. Otherwise I sincerely doubt you'll see those purchases again.

Overall im happy with the thought processes going on and would like to see more about this moving forward. Im not sure its worth me logging in again just yet, im on the fence about that still all thing considered with this week, but I definitely feel like this is a better direction to be moving in.

Haven't logged in since the announcement at runefest, switched to OSRS till I decide if their changes to reignited are enough for me to be excited. I maxed my main 2 weeks ago and they announced reignited with me expecting it to be a skill or something grand.

Bonded my osrs so if they do right, ill go back to rs3, otherwise I won't touch it.

Made a gim 2 months ago thats in the same state. Won't be played till its acceptable changes.

Im not against starting over but it won't be on a new account and it won't be sacrificing everything I've done on both accounts.

Valderg

Bonds are about 120-130m right now on rs3, but yes, if you bond in osrs, you also have rs3 time. If you bond in rs3, you also have osrs time. Its probably the best thing they could have done for the game lol. But yeah, it is all one account, youre just using one of the games economies to put membership on the account itself.

Valderg

As an rs3 player that is maxed, I would want a prestige system. Let me lock my current status somewhere, my bank. My achieves, all that and continue eith new players on the same account. Then let me unlock that stuff and store my reignited stuff away so I can continue my grinds etc. Its not perfect, but its better than telling me to throw away my maxed account and pay for another account.

Valderg

Miles better. As long as you can toggle to swap between reignited and veteran, so you can go back to your old account to finish anything you want, or reignited to be in 2026. I'd still consider this a win. That said, i just got my max cape 2 weeks ago or so. I haven't comped and thats WAY more effort than I put in so I cant speak for them.

Valderg

More like 100k, but if your business had 100k customers and every one of them left because a decision you made, you'd probably re-examine that decision wouldn't you?

Valderg

Just curious, why do you think havenhythe was a let down? I quite enjoyed the story as well as all the new Skilling methods there.

Is it because youre maxed and cant really do any of the methods or?. To be fair though I haven't touched it on my main, but I rushed there on a brand new gim and have been loving it.

Valderg

Yes because they invested millions into the coke side which is returning no profit anymore. Thus leading to them fixing it or trashing it. Which is still leading to a win for a consumer.

Valderg

One of the main issues are that because they are creating it as a new account type, you have to choose to pay an extra 15 a month to play the new mode on a completely new account, meaning leaving behind your osrs account as well, and upkeeping 30 a month if you want to play reignited and your old osrs account at the same time. Thats another factor. They could have allowed us to "prestige" per say, which would have locked in our achievements and time, to reroll fresh with everyone else. I guess they decided its better to throw away accounts with 1000s of hours instead.

Edit: also the bonds question, osrs and rs3 accounts are linked together, so if one has membership, you can play either game. So buying a bond in rs3 for 14 days time, gets you 14 days in osrs as well. So he liquidated his bank in rs3 to buy bonds to pay for his membership to play osrs instead.

Valderg

Yeah i was playing both a Main which i just maxed last week, and a GIM, ive since abandoned both and started playing OSRS. No reason to play if id have to restart in 2 months anymore.

Valderg

The non grouping issue is purely an issue for down the line, personally, i like to pvm with friends, i recently created a new account to do just that, not to get carried, but so we could pvm together when i get the stats. That just wont be possible with the new system entirely.

I cant really comment on not liking duo content, i love it so not sure about that whole situation there.

Valderg

Irons can group with mains, but wont be able to group with reignited nor if they have reignited irons. The only people it truely doesnt affect are CGIM.

Valderg

You mean like the entire last year when they have told people to try RS again because the road to restoration? What about all the new players in the last year that are put in the same predicament all previous players are?

Valderg

I dont disagree, but i also dont think it needs to be this extreme of a change. Why not let players transfer skills over but remove them from highscores? or prestiege where a player can "lock" their accounts progress and reset to play with them or revert at any time. Instead we got "Pay extra money and forget about all the time youve spent here".

Valderg

The whole issue with the economy was because there was no new players, so things would stagnate and prices would drastically change or be manipulated. That isnt solved by this issue, they are saying they are giving up on veteran accounts to focus on newer audiences. Without new players in the economy, it will continue the downward trend until removed essentially. You have to remember that people that make their accounts even up until reignited are considered veteran accounts. so any new players not invested in their veteran account will just leave to new servers if not quit entirely. Purely because jagex just showed their faces at how they dont care about the older accounts because they arent part of the new thing.

Valderg

and yet it took them a year to do it, that they were encouraged to do, by the same people asking them now to give it up to play with new players otherwise face extinction.

Valderg

Yeah i have a feeling its being forced and he was crying because he knew this shit was gonna go down this way.

Valderg

All players that would be new, cant interact with veterans in any meaningful way, and the veteran economy will slowly die out completely. It's essentially give up your account, or die a slow death to your side of the game.

Valderg

You just cant play with any of the new players in any capacity thats meaningful.

Valderg

I almost wonder if this is a shareholder decision and he was crying because he knew this shit would go down this way.

Valderg

I just finished doing this and would consider myself mid-game right now. My biggest gripes are questing (solved by plugins) herblore (solved by not being an ironman) Agility, and Divination. Everytihng else has felt okay if not pretty good to redo. Im not saying this to say EVERYONE needs to start over, but i def enjoyed doing the beginning again on a GIM, but doing it again at the cost of my Main would be a different story.

Valderg

My only rebuttle to this is OSRS players didnt need to pay an additional 15$ a month to play it. they could hop freely between them, this one every single veteran would need to pay $30 a month just to be able to access veteran vs reignited gamemodes. If they let them be new worlds like leagues without requiring a whole new account it might be a bit better on the comparison front.

Valderg

Unless they created their account for OSRS only, and havent chosen a gamemode on RS3 yet.

Valderg

As much as i dont care for reignited, i will say that having quest helper plugin is gonna make this part SO much better!
