Id reccomend paying the $100 bucks to hire a DMV services company to knock this out for you. They’ll be able to get into the DMV right away and will make quick work of this.

Vegaskwn

lol ok. Been in the car business 20 years and never heard of a customer walking away with cash after an accident on a lease. A simple google search will also tell you you’re wrong.

The person leasing the car wouldn’t get anything because person leasing the car doesn’t own the car. The leasing company owns the car so the leasing company would get the money. Most leases explicitly state that they keep any excess money in a payoff situation.

Dealerships have complex pricing software that lets them know exactly how their vehicle is priced compared to others in your area. Assuming you’re looking at the cheapest or one of the cheapest in the area the Dealer probably isn’t going to go down a penny because they know they don’t need to… New car dealers will sell quality warranties that do what they are supposed to do so I would absolutely recommend purchasing a warranty so you don’t have to worry about unexpected repair bills.

Nobody will know the better as long as you don’t bring it up… Never bring up stuff with an ex..

Your friends gonna need to trust you A LOT.. it’s really simple - Once TFS receives payment in full they will send you the title/lien release - then you sign it, and give it to your friend.

State AG is a great start but also file one with local DMV and CFPB

This is the correct answer ⬆️

98% chance they won’t entertain switching the wheels..

Dealerships have VERY aggressive finance company’s and will be able to get you taken care of NO PROBLEM. Don’t like the interest rate you get? Just refinance it in a few months at a local credit union once you have the job time they want.

Vegaskwn

No…. New car prices keep going up, therefore used follows.

You have a Z06 - PLENTY of fish in the sea as far as buyers go… I don’t care what’s verified - There is some level of risk when using anything other than cash. You’re talking about a lot of money here. For me: I will wait for a buyer that is willing to meet me inside my bank with cash that my teller can verify is real currency and can be deposited into my account. Only at that point I’m handing over the keys and the title.

There’s no magic pill or secret trick here.

Vegaskwn

This ⬆️

One of your local credit unions should be able to help you out no problem

Vegaskwn

There’s an old saying that could be applied here…

Vegaskwn

Go look at the prices on new cars 😎

Vegaskwn

Do you know what’s holding your credit score down?

Vegaskwn

Yeah, screw them. Insurance companies just take money every month and fight you when it’s time to pay you… I shop on Every renewal,.,

Vegaskwn

I’m not saying this is the reason for your increase, but it could potentially be a factor in some/all of it : Insurance companies can tell if you’ve been shopping for Insurance. I have read several times before that if your current insurer DOESNT see you shopping around that they will raise your rates even more because they have low risk of losing you (because you don’t shop them).. Anyways, reach out to a couple brokers and let them do their job.

Vegaskwn

The ONLY way with 0 risk is to have them meet you inside your bank with CASH. They hand your bank tellsr the cash, your bank teller verifies the cash is real and can be deposited and only at that point do you handover the keys and the title….. Fake cashiers checks and money orders are a very real thing. No legit buyer will have a problem meeting you inside your bank - everyone is safe and protected.

Vegaskwn

A good credit score doesn’t mean you have good credit though. Our credit scoring model is very flawed and most banks know this. There are a myriad of factors that dictate your rate on a car loan: year, miles, loan to value, debt to income ratio, payment to income ratio, job time, income type (1099 vs W2), past auto loan payment history…. I’m just gonna make a guess and guess that you have never financed a car before and that you have 1-2 small limit credit cards and mayyybe some student loan debit? If I’m close to right, the rate is higher than what you see advertised mainly because you don’t have the depth on your credit to prove that you’re not a risk, therefore you are a risk = A higher than average rate. The best interest rates are given to borrowers with depth on their credit meaning they have a track record of on time payments on installment loans and responsible usage of revolving debt.

This is literally it ⬆️

Vegaskwn

100% agreed…

Vegaskwn

Can’t ask that in Reddit land. On Reddit everyone pays cash for cars and if you have your car payment, you’re a loser…. In the real world though 70% of people purchasing cars are financing them.. Cars are expensive and for the average person it would take years to be able to save enough cash to buy a newer reliable car and people need reliable transportation for their jobs, kids, climate etc. Most of what Dave Ramsey sez is on point but having a newer/reliable car is a necessity for most adults.
