THE FIVE-MONTH ROOMMATE EXPERIMENT
A 35-year-old woman moves in with two 25-year-old roommates.
Here are two possible five-month scenarios:
SCENARIO #1 — THE TRAIN WRECK
MONTH 1 — “WELCOME HOME”
Everyone gets along. Gentle flirting. Lots of laughs. Boundaries seem clear.
MONTH 2 — “THINGS GET INTERESTING”
Drinks lead to flirting. Sex with one roommate. Everyone agrees it doesn’t have to make things weird.
It immediately makes things weird.
MONTH 3 — “THREE IS NOT A CROWD”
A three-way happens. Suddenly they’re spending a LOT of time together.
Nobody wants to discuss what this means.
MONTH 4 — “THE HONEYMOON IS OVER”
Jealousy. Pettiness. Passive-aggressive texts. Someone’s food disappears from the refrigerator.
And somehow, rent isn’t paid.
MONTH 5 — “THE LEASE IS OVER”
Rent still isn’t paid.
One roommate moves out.
Everyone stops speaking.
The five-month lease expires.
Nobody ever speaks again.
SCENARIO #2 — THE UNEXPECTED HAPPY ENDING
MONTH 1 — “WELCOME HOME”
Everyone gets along. Gentle flirting. Lots of laughs. Something feels different, but nobody says anything.
MONTH 2 — “THINGS GET INTERESTING”
Drinks lead to flirting. Sex with one roommate.
The other roommate is surprisingly okay with it.
Maybe a little too okay with it.
MONTH 3 — “THREE IS NOT A CROWD”
A three-way happens.
Then they start realizing the attraction isn’t just physical.
MONTH 4 — “LET’S TALK ABOUT THIS”
Instead of jealousy and drama, they actually communicate.
They talk about boundaries, feelings, expectations and the future.
Miraculously, nobody storms out.
Rent is paid.
MONTH 5 — “THE LEASE IS OVER”
The five-month lease expires.
But they don’t want to separate.
They decide to stay together, find a new place and build a life as a committed three-person relationship.
Five months ago they were strangers.
Now they’re a family.
And somehow, everybody gets the happy ending. ❤️

That aside, i live in suburban/urban florida and most ppl wear black or grey sweats/yoga pants. Or some apparel with advertisements. So boring

Im wondering how many eyes have been stabbed with candles

I live in Florida. We now have signs on STREETS “no wake zone” because the last 5 years the storm water levels are so high the wake creates waves which flood peoples houses.
Look up the phrase “king tide” which wasnt even a thing 10 years ago
But you go ahead and keep living in your comfort level of denial

My youthful logic decided that i would keep my existing prescription as long as possible, i didnt want what we called bottle cap glasses
So i refused to get eye exams and requested to use the same prescription everytime i got new glasses, starting in the 1980s
Until one optician barked at me and told me “you will do what i tell you to do”
Well, after walking out of his office, i did get a new prescription, and it was stronger.
Cant really do that anymore, the industry apparently has laws now that you must get a new prescription frequently, not sure what the expiration is, but today i found a place that took my prescription from my existing glasses, again because i dont want my prescription to get stronger and stronger
But anyway, your parents are probably concerned that your eyes will get weaker the more you wear your glasses. But shaming you is a bit drastic. Do they use this tactic often? Thats mean
I no longer wear my glasses when at home, or when I am in a situation outside where its not necessary to see far, as i do believe this helps keep my eye muscles stronger, and should help prevent thick glasses
But i dont even think thick glasses are a thing anymore, with the new thin lens technology…
That aside, Anyone else notice glasses are harder to clean the last few decades? Before a simple wipe on the shirt tail, perhaps a huff of breath would quickly wipe away any dirt, but lately it seems alot more difficult to get glasses clean

I had a feral donkey almost eat my wallet in mexico but it was a textile beach lol i think it was called the ilse of youth probably near acapulco in the 90s

My story is not that funny, but i found it fascinating
I was walking the path thru the seagrapes in Haulover beach in florida on the way to the naked beach
When i get a tan, i dont like to do it half-assed, but i digress…
On the path are some arranged twigs, looking closer i see they actually form a detailed portrait of a man, waist up, wearing a suit, tie and fedora. Its amazing!
I looked around for the artist but saw no one. It was early in the morning so i waited there for the next few ppl to share the admiration. They were all equally impressed. I hoped enough people would see it and respect it and hopefully walk around it, despite it being directly in the middle of the path
Eventually I moved on, enjoyed the sun and ocean, but kept an eye towards the seagrapes to see if i could spot the artist, and i think i did
I spotted a small, dark, thin man, short black hair, with long tattered pants and shirt, lingering in the seagrapes. He was too far away for me to initiate a conversation. Perhaps he was living there, but he was def not the typical nudist beach enthusiast.
When i left, the portait was destroyed, the remains scattered by careless, ignorant feet. I wondered why an artist would create something so magnificent, knowing it would be largely unseen
Over the next few weeks i caught glimpses of the man but never had the opportunity to meet him and never saw another portrait. Havent seen him in years, this was probably 10+ years ago
Thank you kind artist for sharing your work, and i hope others were able to admire this brief work of genius
VideoSteve
I would go see him.
Simply because death is final, and i would question it for the rest of my life if i didnt
Hello, I have been trying to start something like this in Broward, but haven’t had any success or support.
