true forgot about the free gear they give, is it legendary gear or blue? i’m blanking. really just depends on how much they understand the game at that point. i feel most new players would just super frustrated if they don’t have the right weapons or damage reductions

true, for campaigns unless you’re doing legendary which a new player probably shouldn’t you can genuinely use whatever you’d like

if you truly wanna learn the entire game lore and all i recommend watching some videos. byf for lore, datto , aztecross , mactics and a bunch of others for builds general game tips and guides.

you should do the campaigns first.
shadowkeep - beyond light - witch queen - lightfall - final shape - edge of fate - renegades

after that it’s completely up to you. do some raids, dungeons, farm strikes and crucible for weapons or armor, grind planetary armor sets.

find some weapons and a subclass or two that you like and make some builds that you’ll enjoy. there are plenty of videos on youtube explaining how builds work and where you get everything for the build

highly recommend running the whole thing, it’s a great dungeon that requires knowledge and skill. once you understand it you can go as fast as you possible can. amazing dungeon, highly recommend completing it fully atleast once.

i just hate matterspark it genuinely made me quit for almost 2 years. trying that first mission for free and having to run around as a ball the whole time? not for me. the story was great the lore involved and hearing everything about lodi and ikora and the nine was awesome i loved it. the gameplay? not so great. destiny’s gun play is the best gun play i’ve ever felt in a game, and you built the expansion around not shooting your guns and running around as a ball. just not fun. i’ll give them that some of the puzzles were alright but definitely not even close to most of them.

you can use it in totems encounter if you’d like sure, it’s niche i should say. but if you’re putting it on your not using it for optimal reasons you’re putting it on for fun and for a niche reason
