You can switch to Lineage then

1. Probably Mint? Others can weigh in
2. Sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by natively — but if you're moving your stuff from Windows onto a hard drive and then connecting that hard drive when using Linux, of course it will work
3. No idea - hopefully someone else will address that
4. Hopefully, you will never have to. Apps can be installed from stores or directly from websites (they should automatically detect you're using Linux). I've only had to use the terminal for very niche stuff (say WiFi issues). Even if you do end up using it, it's all ok. Look at it as an adventure! In most cases, you will just have to copy paste things and press enter. Just make sure the website is reputable.

Why didn't I get the update? I tried updating from the settings but it reports some installation error. In fact, I'm still on some older version, and can't even update to 1909, which I think is the previous version? Is this is a location thing? I live in India. Or some laptop compatibility thing? I have a low-end HP laptop.
