Just saying, it is way nicer than my MSI Claw 8 AI+ was. It definitely doesn't feel like a first-gen product. And the software is way snappier too.

I have been blown away by mine. I actually have had a great experience with the on-screen display myself. At first it was right in the middle of the screen until I realized you just touch it with your finger and move it wherever you want it.
I came from an MSI Claw 8ai Plus, and playing onimusha was almost impossible to get set up to where it was acceptable performance. I just booted it up to play around with it and with everything said to medium, and FSR set to balanced, I get 84 FPS on balanced power profile. Around 75 FPS on quiet mode which drops down to like 36 Watts or something.
It is just insanely higher performance compared to the last Intel chip

We don't know that though lol. The game isn't even out.

Idk I'm watching Kinda Funny's live review right now, and Andy said he has died 8-10 times max trying to beat a single boss. He also mentioned the AI on Hellwalker difficulty learning how you play, baiting you into attacks, etc.
I'd say just wait and play it when it comes out, and THEN make an informed decision about whether or not to be infuriated and flame the devs on the internet.

Yes mine is like that, even after switching to hibernate on button press. But yeah I agree, it is 10x better than the MSI Claw I sold for this. Have you tried to use Optiscaler (via Opticlick)? I was shocked by how much that improved performance. Dragons Dogma 2 at full res, DLSS quality, is buttery smooth. Its crazy.

Jesus christ, humans can be truly awful.

Whoooa I am floored. I truly didn't expect a game in this genre to get that high of a score. If it was some menu clicker low quality, dime-a-dozen JRPG, sure, but not this. I can't wait!
Visual-Gur9661
It really isn't, but I see why you'd think that since it is shouted from the rooftops by lesser games media sites
Visual-Gur9661
I see the downvotes, but I'm with you. I think there were plenty of really good games this year, but we didn't have a single Elden Ring, Clair Obscur, etc. just a bunch of normal good stuff.
Visual-Gur9661
Only US gets the case AFAIK
Visual-Gur9661
Mine is perfectly, beautifully smooth. Any my thumb only barely brushes against the right analog stick when using face buttons. I have no build quality concerns so far. Actually the opposite, it feels way more premium than I expected. Makes the MSI Claw 8 AI+ feel like a toy
Visual-Gur9661
Interesting. Do you have any point of reference to compare it to? For example I had an MSI Claw 8 AI+ that I sold to get this, and an Xbox Ally X in between those. I got mine updated and everything at work last night and am gonna try gaming today.
Visual-Gur9661
Yeah I really like it actually. It is squeaking a bit now but it'll break in.
Visual-Gur9661
I opened mine last night, and it is the most premium-feeling case I've had for any of my handhelds. It is very nice.
Visual-Gur9661
Yes, it is likely going to take a while to get ironed out as it's a new platform. Also, I think it has to do with Windows' sleep mode issues. I'm sure some new BIOS update or firmware will fix it in time
Visual-Gur9661
I thought you had to put the screen protector that it comes with on to get that anti-reflective coating
Visual-Gur9661
I'm scared to put mine on too but I heard it doesn't ruin the colors
Visual-Gur9661
Keep in mind that was the Claw 8 AI+, not the Ex 8 AI+ or whatever. But I hear the new ones have a lot of those same issues. I think the new one looks cooler and more ergonomic tho at least
Visual-Gur9661
I'm just irresponsible
Visual-Gur9661
That's one of the many reasons why I sold my Claw 8 AI+. It is truly awful
Visual-Gur9661
First off, the Dpad has a design flaw where it relies on these tiny plastic nubs that break off with varying amounts of normal use. Mine made it maybe 2 months.
Second, it almost always had some level of minor stutter or VRR issues of some kind.
Third, the ergonomics were the worst I've tried so far. My hand would rapidly go to sleep in minutes because of the pressure point where it rests in my palm. It is just a big heavy rectangle.
Fourth, the software. The speed at which it improves is awful, and it isn't in an acceptable state still after all this time. I had it since launch. To this day, you try to open Xbox quick access menu or Center M, and it just stalls, and then you push it again, and finally give up and say, screw it it's broken. Then all the presses catch up 90 seconds later mid game and it opens and closes 15 times in a row.
Also, resolutions were always wonky because it didn't work well naturally with 16x10. I will probably have to deal with that on my Atlas 8 too, but still. There's more, but yeah. I had a bad experience.

Are these bots? This and the replies feel off, like advertisements for AI services by AI bots

Mine should be here tomorrow. Earlier it briefly said it was coming a day early since it's already in my state, but it didn't make the cutoff.
Well first I'll say that I used opticlick on Onimusha right after that, and it instantly shot to a buttery smooth maxed out 120. My MSI Claw had the nub break on the dpad, and the software was super unresponsive, plus ergonomics would put my hand to sleep in minutes. This has no such problem. To me it looked kind of boxy in the pictures before I got it, but once you hold it it has these perfect hand shaped grips that are really comfy.
Pretty much every game I've played has been awesome, I haven't found a single game that I can't get to at least 45 FPS before frame generation on balanced or quality upscaling. And obviously everything can get pushed way higher if you go down to performance or lower other settings. I do wish the power level could go lower but I expect that they might allow that one day through updates. Fans are extremely quiet though on both Quiet preset, and manual power level slid all the way to 10/15.
Even at lower FPS like say 30 or 40 when you limit it, it feels miles smoother than the claw did, I suspect because of VRR or software differences but idk.
I am way happy with this than I expected to be. I did get the Best Buy Plus just in case to give me 60 days, but I can't imagine returning it. It has way exceeded my expectations so far based on other people's videos that sketched me out.
