Constantinople is very low on the priority list. It only has one output node. The amount of money is flowing to Ragusa without a merchant present is basically the same. Yeah, you'd get a minor increase in trade value, but I very much doubt it's worth it until you're steering into Constantinople from at least some nodes upstream.

I'd put merchants in: 1. Ragusa 2. Wien 3. Alexandria 4. Collecting in Venice 5. Collecting in Genoa 6. Aleppo, Crimea, Pest, Champagne..

Just for anyone taking this chart at face value, which seems to be quite a few people in the replies.

As it turns out, if you're using a lower level gem you can't drench enemies above a certain level. For example, a level 13 thunderstorm cannot drench enemies above level 66. It's probably worth it to invest in extra strength, either through gear or the passive tree.

So I loaded up the game to check and it seems to just be an issue with the fort level map mode. For some reason it doesn't show your zone of control in neutral territory, but it does exist. I took some images and as you can see, they actually can't get to me if I place my army in Dortmund.

They should update the mapmode to reflect reality, but yeah, I was wrong.

The AI definitely cheats with fort zone of control though. Their forts project a zone of control into neutral territory, yours don't. Their occupied forts also project a zone of control, yours don't. I don't know why people are so adamant on insisting the AI doesn't cheat when it comes to forts, not you specifically, just a general observation

It's funny how these people see the deportations as dehumanising, or 'otherising' people, then turn around and say shit like this.

Jagex should require phone verification on new accounts. I know this will dissuade new people from joining the game, but that number will probably be lower than people leaving the game due to bots. This is an issue that needs to be tackled at its source - account creation.

I know you can buy phone numbers for pretty cheap, and emulate them in some way. But it's still another barrier of entry to the cost and speed at which these massive bot farms can be spun up.

Obviously, this should coincide with everyone having a single account with character slots.

I actually had no idea about the capital event! After a few tries loading a previous save, I was able to bombard and assault my way to their capital. Now they "only" have a force limit of 158, but I might be able to win. Thanks!

Edit: ahh.. not gonna happen I don't think. They stayed at double their force limit, so I figured let's just wait until they go bankrupt, after 5 years of defending, they had.. 10 loans. I thought after the lich died, the undead armies were supposed to run amok.. but they just switched back to human military and carried on like it was no big deal. Oh well.

R5: Just lost the war to these guys playing as Yinquan. A pretty long one, I used everything in my arsenal, discipline advisor, mercenaries over force limit, charm magic, my war wizard ruler (who is now dead), scorched earth and edicts on all my forts.. I inflicted 7:1 casualties, but my efforts don't really hold a candle to their 115% discipline, 5 morale, 400k+ troops and infinite manpower, all in 1500.

Beyond exiling myself with exploration, there's really no recourse here. Their ruler isn't even a general, so he's just going to live forever.

I do like playing with great/mythical conquerors, but if you're playing in Yanshen I'd suggest using the delayed conquerors option at the least, otherwise Baihon Xinh or Hon Sai will end up getting it basically every game and you end up in a situation similar to this one.
