From a distance i'd call that a physical problem. I haven't gotten to the Pan V3 yet (I have one on my shelf so it's coming soon) but the removed/inserted loop indicates the gpio is bouncing, which is attached to a switch in the micro sd card slot. I'll try to remember to check back in with you once I've gotten mine running and have some hands on evidence.

Default credentials for the RTSP stream and ONVIF are 'thingino' for both username and password.

Thingino + LightNVR

if possible backup your factory firmware with a ch341a or similar. Then grab my sonoff installer for another model, replace the included firmware with the one for your cam, and try boot with it. it's not likely to break anything, 49% it works, 49% it doesn't do anything.

WLTechBlog

It may use the same mechanism as some of the other models, but I don't have one myself to test with and thus far nobody on discord has popped up with one ready to test either.

Normally I wouldn't just post a link, but I did make an entire video about exactly that. https://youtu.be/q7vhUzJtjxQ

you can build the master tree for wyze cam v3 and run it now, although you might wait a few days for some of my webui/raptor plumbing fixes to land. it's easy to build locally, and we also have an online builder at https://image-builder.thingino.com

Yes

We have a lot of adjustments available, although only the most common are exposed via the web ui. Others can be set directly via ssh.

I hear ya... The amount of money I've spent on Wyze products in the last few weeks makes me sad.. so hopefully someone with one and some basic electronics skills shows up on our Discord before it comes to that!

WLTechBlog

Soon.

This combination should work on any cam with USB data, which includes the V4.

WLTechBlog

Yes, V3 has worked for years

WLTechBlog

OG is for sure a no-go, despite the name its completely unrelated to any of their other cams, and uses some random Realtek chip instead of Ingenic.

WLTechBlog

solar/battery is going to be a tough combination with ONVIF, which expects a device that's always awake. solar/battery cams spend 99% of their day in deep sleep.

WLTechBlog

Honestly, there's a fair chance it would run my no-tools installer despite not booting all the way into wyze firmware. We catch it early in the process. https://youtu.be/Ax6usUOjxkY for the video walk-through.

WLTechBlog

I don't have this one in my pile yet so it won't be in the first round of devices.. unless someone pops in with one and helps! it sure looks like a V4 with a sticky face.

WLTechBlog

Yep, those both use ONVIF and we have sample configs for HA on or wiki. HA is probably the most popular integration.

WLTechBlog

We've had V1 for forever, V2 is supportable now and I've got one in the pile, but it's a few weeks out before I get to it.

WLTechBlog

Man I sure don't like bulb cams. Not saying no, but that model is not in my pile yet.

WLTechBlog

We have had V1 support for forever, I expect v2 coming soon but I've got a stack of Wyze cams waiting their turns.

WLTechBlog

I don't expect much on that front any time soon. The batter cams use Ingenic's Zeratul platform, where an external microcontroller (usually integrated with the wifi chip) controls power to the main cpu, and wakes it up when it needs to do work. Most of the time those wifi chip don't exist outside of the Chinese domestic market, drivers are unavailable, etc. We've manged to disable the power management on a few units but they become corded cameras with a battery backup that will die a few hours after losing power.

WLTechBlog

wyze.com has some discounted refurbs right now. I beat mine up a lot during development so grabbing that to replace it.

WLTechBlog

If I'm being honest that one is at the bottom of the pile of Wyze devices I have but IT IS IN THE PILE just give me a little time to get to it!

WLTechBlog

Often times these are just poorly tuned drivers from the vendor, and editing them isn't a big deal. if you jump on our Discord, our friendly bot Gino can probably help you get it all sorted out!
