Either ask a local taxi company](https://www.google.com/search?q=taxi+near+T%C3%A0+X%C3%B9a%2C+S%C6%A1n+La&oq=taxi+near+T%C3%A0+X%C3%B9a%2C+S%C6%A1n+La) or your accommodation in Tà Xùa to organize a car.
It's never hard to organize transport in the wild.

pay the agency
Agency? Which agency? Vietnam Immigration https://evisa.gov.vn or someone else?
WeAllWantToBeHappy
Which airport?
Who have you talked to?
What did they say?
Normally, you'd just pay the overstay fine (less than 2 million) at the immigration booth in the check-in area.

The baby who wasn't born in a storm.

Good lort. I think I've had enough Internet for today.
Maybe even too much. Code is fine.

Works fine for me. Storm was pretty extreme. Worst I've camped in in my 71 years. Woke up when it started. Worried about tent being shredded by the wind, but it seemed to be holding up fine.
Realised I had no other good options but to wait it out and went back to sleep. Woke up to a fine morning. Tent undamaged. Weight/size/quality is good and value for money is pretty impressive.

I've got a Night Cat. It's absolutely fine.
Camped at 2865m in Vietnam https://www.reddit.com/r/hiking/s/r4SFUsYWFz
and had a Vietnamese thunderstorm in the middle of the night. Lashed with wind and rain. No problem at all. Glad I always take pegging down seriously.

Were the reviews written before or after paying. The xyclo scammers work by getting the customer to write the review at the end while everything is sweetness and light, then request some outrageous sum, arguing that the price was per person, per hour, per km, in dollars or whatever...

Not so much variation at that time of year as at some times. A little cooler in the Hanoi, but nothing like what it is in the mountains.
Add in where you like in the comparison and you should get a pretty good view of the expected weather.

There's a padlock inside the box section.
WeAllWantToBeHappy
It's locked. Padlock is inside the box section to make attack more difficult.

It's a very rough track (think Unimog). Not at all suitable for any sort of bike. Easy enough to go round the end of the wire 'fence'. It only continues maybe 40m beyond the gate... But there are two of these gates on either side of a paved road, so not like you could accidentally approach it at speed either on a bike or on any 4 wheel vehicle.

Your E-Visa has two dates on it: Valid from .... until
Arrive on or after 'from', but not before.
Leave on or before 'until', but not after.
If you want flexibility and protection, add a day or two on the front and a good buffer on the end.

Bear Grylls?
Juliane Koepke got there first

my "Intended date of entry" i would put the 18th, and the "Intended length of stay in Viet Nam" would be 8 days (?)
No, you put your intended date as the 17th and intended length of stay at 30 (or even 90) days.

My title describes the thing.
Galvanized gate restricting access to forest in National park while allowing access to power line.

It's probably your passport. Many countries - mainly, but not exclusively African - are shadow banned. You will continually be asked for more information but will never progress to the visa being granted.
Look for a visa agent to help. Might be impossible, so bad careful if paying for flights etc that aren't fully refundable.
WeAllWantToBeHappy
You won't be allowed to board without a visa which is valid for the day you arrive.
Use a visa agent to organise an urgent visa.
Emily Visa or similar will sort it out in exchange for $'s

If you want to see wildlife, you're probably best off with a guide.

What passport do you have? They're not all treated equally.
WeAllWantToBeHappy
They are notoriously uncommunicative. You can try to get it amended if you have plenty of time, but it would just be easier to re-apply.
Screenshot everything so you will at least know whether mistakes are yours or theirs...
They're notoriously difficult to contact.
I'd worry that their system cancelled your E-Visa when you reclaimed the money.... and probably get another E-Visa, unless you can get your bank to un-reclaim the money...
