Ahhhhhh, ok, that makes more sense now.

Someone has never been to Cheesecake Factory

Oh no I’m a stereotype.

Not at all basically.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to have. But it’s like a vacation. Do I WANT vacations? Sure. Do I need them and I’ll throw a hissy fit if I don’t get them or act like I am dying? No, not at all.

Never, but I am also on pain medication so it isn’t an option anyway. The opioids also provide whatever dopamine my brain craves, though on a standard dose they don’t really have a strong mental effect any more.

…though honestly, I have never been a drinker. I’ll drink a glass rarely but being drunk just isn’t attractive to me. Being drunk feels like being stupid and I don’t enjoy that at all.

You evidently have no idea what a bot looks like, congratulations on being stupid.

Do you…just have zero experience with AI?

Because that’s literally how consumer facing AI chatbots are set up. You don’t need to prompt hack to get it to agree with you. It will laud your point of view regardless. It wouldn’t even take anything egregious. But if OP described the same situation to a bot from his own perspective, it would agree with him.

Although using AI to try and discern “fairness” makes literally no sense, I don’t think anyone here needs to have it explained again how AI works or why the idea of basing judgment on AI output is beyond insanity.

I do not recommend this honestly. The problem is that with the people that vets see, that isn't going to be taken as a ridiculous suggestion, that is going to be taken as a serious question. Because people will absolutely try to get vets to put down their otherwise healthy adult cats. It happens at such a high rate a lot of vets become disillusioned. This response is VERY likely to get them to solidify their ill-feelings about you and see you as a HORRIBLE owner and just make things worse.

It's the same issue as making ironic jokes about offensive things, like sexist or racist jokes you CLEARLY don't believe. If the other person doesn't know you well enough they aren't ridiculous, they are just...racist/sexist. Being sarcastic or ridiculous requires something to be SO out there that no one can possibly take it seriously, and this just isn't far enough out there sadly.

I've had a vet almost cry and thank me effusively simply because I sought medical treatment for my 19 year old cat rather than immediately put her down. It was a complete no-brainer to me but the poor vet had been traumatized with people trying to put down their animals for the tiniest problems and so he was just happy to see someone actually care.

My problem isn’t so much the existence of homeschooling itself, there are plenty of success stories in that framework for TONS of individual reasons that aren’t all easily grouped into buckets. My problem is those stories are like, less than 1% of the amount of children actually homeschooled and for every student that got benefits out of it due to their unique circumstances and the capability of their parents/community to actually teach them, there are like 99 others who have crazy parents that are super religious or conspiracy theorists who believe nonsense about public schools.

I am not opposed to it, but I do honk there should be PLENTY of oversight over it, which homeschool organizations tend to hate because those organizations seem to be dominated by nutters that hate the government and thus see oversight to the progress of their children as an invasion of their rights. Ignoring that their inability to teach their children to an appropriate level or desire to brainwash them into whatever cult they are in is a violation of their children’s rights.

I still feel it can irrecoverably damage the social learning of a child, but if there is a legitimate reason and a legitimate capacity for the parent to actually succeed, sure, it should be an available option. It just needs lots of hoops to jump through.
