She went to high school with Kate Bosworth in Cohasset, they were friends(ish) and she is just oddly obsessed with her because of that. She used to manage to bring up the she knew KB a lot on her radio show, and she was definitely jealous of KB's fame.

Good for you! My husband and I own a small business, and a hun was clearly trying to recruit me to an MLM at this community function a while back. She gave the whole "I'm a business owner" nonsense so I just casually said oh yeah, I already am as well. But like, a real one.... like we actually OWN our company. Not as a contractor or distributor, or whatever, ya know? I gave her as sweet of a smile as I could, and just like that, the pitch was over. 😉 You just have to shut them down firmly by giving them no more ammo to continue, you did well.

This is what I'm seeing mostly now, too- and they straight up refuse to give the name of the company anywhere. They don't want people researching the company in advance. Some will vaguely mention there are products involved, but never what they are, and just really lean on the "financial freedom" rhetoric for sure.

I feel surprisingly the same- I didn't want to like her, but i can't stop watching her videos. I appreciate that she seems to be truly deconstructing, is explaining how so many young people got swept up into MAGA, and seems to be trying to make up for her mistakes. Time will tell on how genuine she truly is, of course.

A friend of mine said she has stopped listing anything for free, even if she really doesn't want to charge anything, because she said free items bring out the craziest people and she's over it. She was getting rid of a desk so she just said $20.00 to try to get serious inquiries about it. A woman from a town about 30 minutes away messaged and asked if she'd lower the price to cover her gas money. So it still didn't keep the choosing beggars at bay, lol.

Oh yeah, this was a big staple for us, too- I still make it to this day. I add onions and use fire roasted tomatoes to fancy it up these days, but it's still the same poor kid dinner it always was lol.

Very true- this company must have some hideous information out there to be so secretive. There is a handful of other ladies that comment on every post cheering her on and when I looked at their pages it's clear they are in the same scheme. And they are just as tight lipped in their own posts. No mention of any product to buy, no mention of what the "business " is or does. Just the same fake affirmation speak and they all claim they are "helping women find financial frredom" So clearly they know it's a scam and no one wants to be in it unless they can find a way to trap you in a high pressure situation. Which has generally not been Mary Kay's MO in the past, they yapped endlessly about the products. But who knows.
