this is a very specific thought. Most countries across the world do not automatically have the death penalty for murder and it is generally frowned upon killing someone just for murder.
Whyyyyyyyyfire
no legal requirement
Whyyyyyyyyfire
We have. AI has hacked into several companies, notably when OpenAI's models hacked into Huggins.
Whyyyyyyyyfire
What is the bus in this context?
Whyyyyyyyyfire
Maybe. You would have to ask an expert for a better opinion, but if ai ceo's are saying theres a 10% chance i think its fair to say theres a solid maybe.
Some things for the AI will kill us all:
AI is passing barriars over and and over again that human's thought were previously impossible, AI has been shown to be able to hack suprisingly advanced barriars and real world companies, AI companies do not seem to be slowing down nor is there active legislation limiting them, AI is exhibiting supringsly human behavior including "thought" processes that mimic fear and survival instincts
Some thing for the AI will not kill us all:
A lot of experts say its not much to worry about, they really are just fill in the blank word predictors (althrough maybe we all are), by saying your AI is powerful enough to kill everyone that makes your AI seem more powerful (thus increasing stock value) so strangely enough they have an incentive to make ai seem scarier, their "thought" processes could be entirely fake and since they really are just fill in the blank machines and a lot of writing has ideas of death and fear they could just be copying that.
Idk, im not an expert. here are just some of my thoughts that seem relevant. do with them what you will.
Whyyyyyyyyfire
and this is why they have to make it harder.

402 is a group taught (I forget the exact name) so all the 402 profs design the course together to have the same curriculum and grading standards (or at least are supposed to).
406 is not group taught (or at least wasn’t during my year) so each prof can have their own policy.
Whyyyyyyyyfire
for 402 you won't know until after finals if at all. They'll curve it so that at some % the average grade is a B. It's hard to tell but around a C to D average on all the midterms and final + high hw/career prep/whatever else is in that class should be an A-. (at least based on my perspective as a sophmore ece, which is admittdily not the most informed)

isnt that mostly bs? like no one is ever expired and i don't think many people genuinely believe this in western culture.
anyway they are certainly less attractive to most people. People get less attractive when they age, not saying that makes them expired, but to say they are better is pretty ignorant. Sure they might be able to pay for a few weeks of vacation, but most are deep into their careers. A twenty year old might still be in school, or be in-between jobs. I think a summer vacation offers way more flexibility than PTO for most people.
Whyyyyyyyyfire
if people could see ghosts like this we would've picked up ghost signatures years ago with all the modern tech that allows us to easily detect waves of light beyond the visible spectrum

at the very least in regards to doxxing, its pretty unlikely that the exact people involved will stumble over the exact post. Even less of a chance if the posters self select by not posting stories if they know whoever is involved is active on reddit.
Whyyyyyyyyfire
why do you think this has a phrase/word? or are you just asking if there is one.
Whyyyyyyyyfire
- Not potentially, pretty definitely
- For most of my day I don’t need 100% of my battery. If I’m sitting in my room with no intention of leaving for the day, or know I’ll be back before it goes below 20% I can safely charge my phone to 80% or plug my phone in before it goes underneath 20%. But when I’m out for a long time I’ll charge up to 100% and run my phone to 0%. I don’t know anyone who absolutely refuses to charge their phone to 100% and refuses to use their phone underneath 20%. You’ve been misinformed or tried to create a really bad strawmen.

One major reason is that most Asians in the US came on an H1-B visa or are relatives of someone on a H1-B visa. This means the only way they could get to the US is with a high paying highly specialized job. If they were to lose said job they (and any family on the accompanying H-4 visa) would get deported.
Being an engineer or the children of an engineer makes it a lot easier to not be homeless and I’m willing to bet that engineers have a pretty low homeless rate regardless of race.

i think as an example for these kind of questions has so far been the most useful use case of the collatz conjecture

Both ignores the nukes thing and ignores how critical having a functional economy is to food supply. And if you say well at least the roads aren’t damaged, quite frankly cycling or walking food is about as practical as expecting food supply to not being cut off by financial collapse.
Whyyyyyyyyfire
compared to like, the banking system? or like our nukes?
Whyyyyyyyyfire
why would you need the commonapp and hornslink???

The TA (afaik, maybe im just blind) the TA isnt present at lecture. Should i still go to the TA first?

Yeah he’s asking 6-12 questions a class.

There’s only Ed discussion which feels like an inappropriate place to put this kind of discussion imo.
They don’t necessarily order something every week. They just want it arriving on the same day.
