There has been a lot of issues in Europe that the mainstream parties have refused to address for decades such as economic inequality, an ever decreasing social mobility, or the fact that we have little in the way of industry left on the continent. When people see no hope for the future being better than today then they start getting frustrated and look for people to blame, where again the mainstream parties failed because doing anything about that would mean addressing the aforementioned, which they either cannot or will not do.

As a result people began to ever increasingly vote for the "fuck you" parties on the extreme wings, especially the far right. People don't give a fuck about the reasons why if they can't put food on the table, keep a roof over their heads, or can't hold down a job because they can't afford transport. They're going to look for people who promise change, any kind of remotely positive change, no matter how illusory. And still the mainstream is sitting on their hands, doing nothing, because they're nblindly beholden to capitalism and liberalism. Unless they start doing things that measurable improve people lives, especially the poorest people, then we know exactly how this is going to end, the same way it did about a hundred years ago. But unfortunately politicians live in their own little ivory tower so I doubt any meaningful actions will be taken, and inthat case the EU will collaps within a decade, possibly within 3-4 years with all the external pressure being mounted.
