Hey, the US article worked for me. But I've been away from PC gaming and building PCs for a long time and just ordered my parts for my Jonsbo z20 build. I have a RTX 5080 Astral and SF1000. People reporting that the standard cable from Corsair is too short, so I need to make sure to order CPU and GPU (90°) PCIe Type 5 cables.
The article is very confusing to me, do you know which cables I should be looking for, so that I don't run into any problems?
Wknd_Warri0r
Hey man,
thanks for getting back to me :)
I ordered all my parts yesterday and also chose the SF1000 because of ATX 3.1 but went for 5080 Astral.
I'm building in the jonsbo z20, which should also be a bit smaller than your case. But I might make use of your recommendation anyways and just order those two cables (as I'm still having to wait for my case to arrive for another week or so). I don't really know if I could mount my GPU vertically, but I doubt it.
So:
- Type5 EPS12V CPU cable
- Type 5 90 degree power cable for GPU
and make sure they are from official Corsair to not void warranty or run into any problems. Do you mind sending over which one you chose?
Checked your video, damn nice! Is that a custom aio loop?

Being now a solo freelancer vs having worked as a developer (not for games) in a 100+ employee agency, let me tell you this:
It is definitely not on purpose, but with everything, every field gets more separated into specialities and making it harder to collaborate over projects.
Even in web design, when I worked in an agency, I would collaborate with over 10 people on a single project. Some people are juniors and just come from college and are not accustomed to how a team works, or can't even do their job correctly.
Errors get passed down with iterations, sometimes they get fixed, sometimes a miniscule thing gets reworked and that is bringing up errors for something that is connected to it and was originally fixed.
I worked on animation projects for large clients and the amount of work even for a commercial etc is tremendous. I don't even want to know how it is looking like for triple A games and the amount of people with different knowledge and skill gaps involved.
In the past you had real geeks working with a 10 man team, all in the same studio day in and day out, everyone knowing each other and holding each other accountable. Nowadays have high fluctuation of people, remote jobs etc.
I'm pretty sure this is the main issue and can see it in many industries, plus generally time saving and making profits is preferred from studios and employees over polished products.
Don't even want to mention new techniques, upgrades of engines, new ways of doing things etc, bad system protocols, bad documentation of said protocols, bad project management software etc..
Its definitely not to keep your job and you purposefully reintroducing bugs lol. If you do that a few times you are gone and over 100 people with "qualifications" are lining up to take your job ;)

Gut das mit CS kann ich verstehen. Aber ohne die Referenzwerte sind die Werte doch komplett unaussagekräftig? Du müsstest dann um das richtig zu vergleichen auch die komplett identischen Parameter für den Test herstellen. Sprich selbe Map, identische Anzahl an Spielern in beiden Tests etc.
Wknd_Warri0r
I've read that many guys with 5090 report even 1000w is fine. I assume all those PSUs still have the option to use the 3x8 pin Adapter, but I could be wrong
Wknd_Warri0r
console and smooth in one sentence? :D
also if you already tried it on a lower setting and it wasn't smoother how could it become any smoother other than the hardware changing, which is not possible on a console?
your only option in my opinion is to play on a PC (I bet you could buy a pretty decent used PC with with 144hz monitor for the same amount of buying an new PS5 and still have a better experience than currently)
but most people don't understand they are limited by their hardware
Wknd_Warri0r
Nice one! This is giving me hope :)
Ordered the case today (need to wait 2-3 weeks for it to arrive though)
And will order all the rest of my parts tomorrow. I will be buying the 5080 Astral which should be the same length, right?
How did you fit it in, any tips or things I should be taking note off?
I'm a bit scared as I seen others with way smaller cards had to take out front i/o pane, some even flexing it off otherwise the card would not click into their pci-e slot lol :D
Wknd_Warri0r
Hey, no problem with the card not fitting in?
I'm baffled as I read many people with smaller cards 340-345mm length having problems and needing to take out the front i/o panel, flexing it etc.
I really have a dislike most other designs and have deicded I will order all my parts including the RTX 5080 ROG Astral tomorrow, so I'm hoping this will fit. I'll chose the SF1000 PSU and Be Quiet Light Loop 240 and hope that everything will fit.
Do you think the problem with intake fan as rear will be with all fans, or what was the problem here? Wanted to get anopther Light Wing PWM from be quiet.
Wknd_Warri0r
Hey, would you mind explaining that?
I'm currently wanting to build in the same case and already ordered it and will order my parts tomorrow.
GPU is the 5080 ROG Astral
Are the stock cables not good, or too short? Do I need to order some extra?
Wknd_Warri0r
I love to see this!
I'm 32 now and started playing computer games with my dad when I was 8 years old and the game was Soldier of Fortune 2 (at the an 18+ game) and my mom was heavily against it. But he saw that I was beating everyone on public servers within the first two years of playing and always supported me playing those games.
Wish I was born a decade later though, as I was really good played for Team Germany when I turned 16 and later played for a CS 1.6 EAS 1st divison team in ESL. Unfortuantely at that time it wasn't really a career path and so I became a Graphic Designer first and now run my own (Web) Design Agency.
Reading this brought tears to my eyes and I just wanted to say you are doing a great job supporting what your son is good in and loves doing :) Hope he will go a long way!
Wknd_Warri0r
How do you mean that?
Wknd_Warri0r
What route did you go?
I will be ordering my parts tomorrow and still undecided which PSU would be best in terms of cable management and powering the RTX 5080 TUF Gaming OC...
I don't want to get all the parts and then notice that cablesa re too short, or cables be melting or some shit that I read before :D As this is the first build in a long time and my most costly ever, I want cable management to be the best it can as well as the whole aesthetics. Don'twant random cables showing and flopping around lol
Wknd_Warri0r
Hey, what did you decide to go with?
I'm in the same boat curretnly and will order all my parts tomorrow with a 5080 TUF Gaming OC
and don't want melting cables. Is it safe to assume that the Corsair one is the safer options also with better cable length for z20 or similiar compact cases?
Wknd_Warri0r
Oh sorry, so B-Stock as in someone returned it and they refurbished/made sure that it has no technical flaws? I could do that, but thought that maybe there quality check isn't as good as buying a new?
Maaan, I'm so nervous. The last time I spent such an amount of money for something it was a used motorbike lol
Wknd_Warri0r
By the way, what AiO is this? I'm still contemplating if I would fit Arctic LF3 inside or to go for Be Quiet Light Loop.
But I absolutely love your display and see some Corsair print on the fans, just want to ask and read some tests, but your temps look super nice and that display is neat!
Wknd_Warri0r
Hey there, will be ordering my parts and hope the z20 ships quickly to me,
but I'm a little scared if my 5080 TUF gaming oc will fit :D
Anyways, just wanted to message because I will be moving to Vietnam in August. Where are you located? Would be nice to connect and have someone to game with haha.
When I stayed last time I felt that the games people play there are quite different from EU, what kind of FPS do people play there?
Wknd_Warri0r
What does B-Stock mean?
How tall can the ram be? I was going for the G-Skill Trident z5 Neo RGB (but could do the blacks aswell, if the RGB would be too tall?)
Ah you mean flipping the orientation of the aio pipes opposite from your image?
I think I would want to have a rear fan though, just also to play with pressure, because I live in a very dusty area.
I just read good things about the Arctic LF3 all around thenet, so I want to give it a try (also have the Arctic esport Duo in my old system, and its been one of the best air coolers I ever had).
Just a bit scared, because it's my first build in a long time and I think I suck with cable management, but seen and saved a ton of videos for the case and how to do good cable management, so I will give it my all.
I'm going for the 5080 TUF gaming oc which is 348mm and either the Loki or Sf1000l, which should both be fine, right?
So either it is LF3 or Be Quiet Light loop and 1-3 additional Be Quiet Light Wings fans, though I really think with Aio I just need one rear, right?
Will order the stuff tomorrow, so I want to be extra sure :D
Wknd_Warri0r
Yeah, sorry I didn't update the post, I had my old 970 in, and the bandwidth wasn't enough 🙈😂
Wknd_Warri0r
Which version did you have and why didn't it fit? I thought that most 5080s shouldn't have a problem fitting in? Now im scared lol
Wknd_Warri0r
And I see that they ahve 240 and 280, jonsbo z20 manual says that 2 x 140mm would fit in the top, so does that also count for the Arctic LF3?
Wknd_Warri0r
Hey there, I know it's been a bit, but I'm in the middle of some projects and time is running out, so I need to be acting now :D
I have decided on AiO now, as I just prefer the look. I also want either the ROG Loki 1000W or the Sf1000l, which both are SFX-L as I understood?
Would this be enough with space for the Arctic LF3? I just don't want Asetek pump as they were so loud in my old system, but want to make sure there is enough space with my config and I can still close the side panel and have a good working and looking AiO. Otherwise I either want to choose be quiet Light Loop or PURE LOOP 2 FX 280mm - but want to make sure that power vs noise is good. But for the life of me cannot find any good reliable tests online that compare them? I liked the idea of taking this and choosing one ore three more case fans from the same brand, so that I don't have to use 4 different RGB softwares :DD Or is that not a problem?
Thank you a lot and love how your build looks :)
Wknd_Warri0r
sfx-l (sf1000l wouldn't fit?
I'm so torn at the moment and cannot decide which AIO to get for this case and the 5080 TUF Gaming OC.
Had an Enermax AIO in my old system and got rid of it, because the cooling performance vs noise levels were just so bad tbh.
But if I build this, I want to see something of the mainboard and get a nice LOOKING but also PERFORMING and mostly QUIET cooling solution. It is the first system that I really invest and splurge a bit, so I want it to look and perform nicely.
I heard asetek pump systems are not nice, and for the life of me cannot find out if be quiet light loop is using that. Pure Loop 280 seems to be another solution, but I want full ARGB, even if I only have 3 fans inside becuase most likely none will find space below my RTX 5080, I just want them to be mono-colour green/yellow like in this (https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F\_r26TcaQAANQqV.jpg:large) image and all my parts feature this colour scheme, so it would be really nice.
But its the first real build im doing in 15 years and I just don't want to buy anything wrong and have it work nicely. My CPU will be 9800X3D and I read some people saying that with some AIOs they get close to 95° in high laod scenarios. I would want to do quite a lot of gaming + also work in design and might do some renders from time to time...
Wknd_Warri0r
Hey, what did you end up choosing and is it good?
Ah yeah sure, if the quick google search reveals something that we have no REAL knowledge of (or newer studies at least reveal that our models don't align with real measurements as we thought),
then I would just blindly believe that :D
