Thats not a hard rule, but thats what Valve did for most of the grass materials in HL2. The only way to tell for sure is to test it in the map editor, or open the VMT in a text editor and see if it has a %detailtype

I dont think there is any convenient way to see in the editor other than applying the texture to a brush, but in this specific case if you change the texture to "nature/blendgrassgravel002b", it should look the same but wont generate grass sprites.

In addition to the other options mentioned here, most of the grass materials have A and B versions, where the A version has detail grass and the B version has none.

If they are fixing ancient problems that have been around since the game launched, I would like the submit the issue where if you destroy all the enemy bases and the pelican landing pad is near the edge of the map, no enemies can spawn so you just stand around awkwardly for ~2 minutes then leave.

At that speed the atmosphere effectively acts like a solid wall, and smashing through it would create a radiative shockwave so hot that it transfers energy as blinding light and X-rays. If this occurred in the lower atmosphere, the overpressure wave would instantly flatten buildings, vaporise forests, and leave a trench of scorched earth beneath her flight path.

Im convinced that a lot of reddits 2000+ employees are actually running the spam/repost/engagement bots that infest every corner of this site.

I always loved this vehicle, but after making a functional version for a game, it quickly became obvious that its clearance and almost non-existent suspension make it totally impractical for anything except driving on very flat, well-maintained roads. Its basically one of those cool lowriders you see getting stuck because the road wasnt flat enough.

I'll have to go back and play the Quest games one last time before they shut down.

Possibly, but not that I know of.

There is the setpos command which lets you move the player to any coordinates and face any direction. But sending random values to that is 99.9% of the time going to end up with the player outside the BSP, basically looking at nothing.

Just loading a random map would be too easy, since it starts you at the level loading area which is going to be familiar to most nerds.

Might be worth hitting up vrchat and other social apps, find some VR nerds there to game with.
