Miguel posted a story answering this question and he said no, she's become a good friend of his.

The name that floats above their character is not changed, nor does it change in any other game feature like guild window or party unitframes (iirc, it's been a while), but it changes in chat and in the tooltip when you mouseover them. In that same tooltip you can add other details and also change your race/class to something custom like "Kaldorei Priestess" or "Forsaken Buccaneer", stuff like that, you can type whatever you want. If you shift click them, it'll show the actual character name, not the custom one.
There's a bunch more features like character profiles and stuff. You can see it here.

While I'd still recommend sticking to RP naming conventions, in my experience of having played for years on RP realms as an RPer, people use addons to replace names anyway (such as a first name/last name on retail servers and other character details). I wouldn't even know if someone has a non-RP name, unless they don't have the addon, in which case I can probably assume they're not an RPer and I don't care about their name anyway. But that's just me. Someone else might care more and you risk getting a forced rename.
Not really sure what my comment adds to what Stunning_Contest already said haha, just wanted to mention that RPers have a way around names and I've had friends on RP servers with non-RP names and got away with it. I suppose you could install the RP addon (TotalRP3 on retail, not sure if Forever will have a version), change your name on there for the RPers to see, but still have your non-RP name on your character. But that's a lot of steps for something that has a much easier solution lol.

I haven't played a lot of DnD, but I'm in a VTM 5e campaign now that has run for nearly 4 years and I love it more than any system I've played. DnD has never really done it for me, it's slightly too mechanical to me. I don't care much for rolling various types of dice and calculating damage numbers out of them. I prefer the simplicity and faster pace of VTM and the D10s (at least that's how I've played it, I don't know how much my DM homebrewed that).
Do you reckon I will dislike V6, in that case?
Wubdor
Agreed. It really pissed me off when they changed this in retail at the time and it pisses me off that it's now also getting into forever.

No skills from my education in particular, except that my English is excellent, which helps when you're specifically applying for English CM (rather than another language as main with EN as your secondary). I think a marketing background or a graphical background will help in a lot of cases. I was a copywriter before this with the goal of moving into community management/social media.
Mostly, I was just able to showcase I am chronically online and understand social platforms and the genre I would be working in. It helped that I had a history with the game itself and knew the latest news on the studio's projects. Having knowledge of the gaming world, especially online games, was a big plus during my interview.
Finally, a close friend of mine was a community manager with many years of experience. She was able to give me a lot of pointers for my interview/test. Feel free to DM me if you'd like some of those!

Hated it, unfortunately. The cosmere is one of my favourite things in my life and I'm generally very forgiving of Brandon's flaws/shortcomings, but this time I just couldn't do it.
Only the concept of living those entire lives only to find yourself back in your youth is interesting. The rest just fell flat. This is the worst prose in any of his works to the point where it was almost unreadable. The characters are uninteresting and unrealistic, the plot itself is boring, the dialogue is flat out terrible, the romance was just weird and unbelievable, and Hoid's narration is beginning to get very grating. Literally turning to the reader and saying stuff like "for those of you who care about this kind of stuff" or (paraphrasing)"but if you don't care about this, don't worry" is a step too far, even for someone who loves cosmere lore dumps. This also happened a few times in previous secret projects and I was on the fence about them there, but they were rarer and a bit less direct.
I also just don't really think it worked that he skipped over so much detail in those extra lives. Hoid can try to find excuses all he wants, but it just doesn't work. The gravity of that situation doesn't land when you skim over it so much, like with the people on the plains and how she grew in their society and what she learned there. He goes through a books worth of content in a paragraph, and it doesn't work.
It's getting me worried about where Brandon's works are going in quality. I really hope ghostbloods is a return to form.

They did, towards the end! They didn't say they'd do it, but they acknowledged it as a good idea.

2s is so fucking fun to watch at this level. So much action, so many high stakes moments.
Wubdor
1s was added last year. 2s is the first time this year.
Wubdor
Nwpo wasn't having it.

It's new, only for WoW Forever. Not a thing in retail. At least not yet, dunno if there are plans to bring it there. Sounds like kind of a headache to introduce it retroactively with decades-old, millions of characters with existing names.

Man, I feel so sad I didn't let him in because I thought having poisoned him would cook me. I learned hours later from a comment that it doesn't and feel like I missed out on a great first experience with the game. :(

Maybe not exactly adjacent to yours it's not "lower seeded team gets higher placement than expected" but: Northern Gaming winning Season 3 with a sub. They were the favourites to win it all, but then Maestro couldn't make it, and their chances tanked when they had to bring their sub. Little did we know that Turbo was him.
Wubdor
Oh awesome, thanks!

When you click it, you reserve your number of seats for like 5 minutes. So if you end up opening a bunch of tabs to see which ones you wanna get, you reserve all those seats. After 5 minutes, a lot of people who ended up not buying, those seats become available again.

Mine say the category and row and stuff, but since this category is not a thing on the official map, there's no way to truly know until the day of. For silver, I saw it was Section 107, row 5, so that's more useful. But gold is ground floor, which is usually a standing area, so they will just customise that for the event, and we can't know the exact layout of seats until we're there.

It's basically what I said in my first reply: We get extras like new raids, dungeons, zones, and other things that slightly change it up for a fresh experience in a familiar, nostalgic world.
You can kind of see Forever as an alternate timeline in classic that never progressed to TBC, with the promise that it never will, while still getting new things to do. The original classic Azeroth is the main character of this, including its themes and its approach to game design. The way the game worked at the time and the philosophy behind it. (e.g. smaller-scale adventures instead of becoming universe-saving heroes.)
New content will come, but it will fit within that original mindset, playstyle and lore. It will not suddenly create new game mechanics or stats (such as resilience and flying mounts in TBC), but everything will be created based on the original philosophy of WoW vanilla.
It sounds kind of abstract, admittedly. But when you play classic, you can feel the difference in game design and approach. Forever aims to replicate that, but with new content to play through.
Wubdor
Or you familiar with OSRS? (Oldschool Runescape). Basically that. The classic wow experience, but with with new content tailored to that experience. We stay in the old world, we keep those same vibes and playstyles (i.e. crowd control in dungeons, watching your threat, taking time to level, no dungeon finder so you have to actually find people manually and your reputation within the community matters, etc), but we get extras like new raids, dungeons, zones, and other things that slightly change it up for a fresh experience in a familiar, nostalgic world.
They said they are trying to stay within the pillars of what classic was, instead of the way retail went with its changes. Here's what Blizzard's core pillars are for this:
- approachable and familiar
- the world as the main character
- journey before the destination (bridge 4 anyone?)
- protecting and nurturing the social experiences that make Azeroth feel alive

You can resurrect your hardcore character onto a regular Forever realm. Can someone help me see what's the point then? You just have to play on a regular server as a punishment. There's no more actual risk? It just becomes a "see how far you can get before dying for the first time." Am I missing something?
I guess if you're in a raiding guild, then that's the risk? To lose your raiding character in your guild?
Wubdor
Unrelated but that subtitle also has a grammatical error in it.

Same for me, but not for the same reasons. I can tell it's a high quality game with a lot of cool stuff. It's just not clicking for me. Perhaps it's the enemy types and combat, I'm not entirely sure, but it's just not really working for me. I tried multiple times and my most recent attempt got me decently far into the game, but I find myself feeling like it's a chore to start it up to continue until I bounce of completely.

If you enjoyed Kingkiller, I think you will enjoy Empire of the Vampire. While not wholly the same, Kingkiller was a clear inspiration in how the story is being told, and both Kristoff and Rothfuss have similarly beautiful prose. I tried it on a whim by downloading the preview on kindle and was pretty much hooked immediately. (It's also a finished trilogy so no need to worry about waiting for releases.)
Ok ik doe normaal. Maar ik bats wel met je moeder.
