It has vertical progression in the same way all the other horizontal progression games have it, minor upgrades over a long period of time.

Runescape constantly has a new best in slot list, so does Guild Wars 2...which I think are the 2 gold standard horizontal progression MMOs.

Referring to them as "completely separate" is a stretch, they're on the same engine and share a *lot* of code. They are directly connected, you can't deny that.

I've played Star Citizen for 200 hours and I love MANY parts of the game, but on the surface to most people it's simply a buggy, unfinished, unfocused MMO with no broad appeal.

The game is not great atm, and may never be! (I do still love playing it though)

At this point we need a no GENAI rule in this sub, every post that comes to my feed is the same garbage.

Play a hardcore character, the memory you create will outlive the character.

I'm currently doing double hunters, we feel unstoppable

I started a character in HC with my partner and we've been having so much fun, level 21 hunters now.

I think it's maybe only a "problem" if the raid and new leveling gear we haven't seen in the beta doesn't look significantly better, which it probably will.

My biggest tip is be ready to grind mobs a whole lot if you want to be truly safe, check the AH for level appropriate greens, stay well fed, spend some time doing professions...just enjoy the journey and don't go into caves!

I love writing all this about a game that is literally feature complete and releasing in 6 weeks. It’s all fair requests for a game entering development but I hope you can keep your expectations in check.

I understand your confusion completely, this is taking classic WoW as is...sprinkling in about 30-40% new content and then going forward it'll be an expanding game that retains the slow pace of classic wow...retail is a much different game and will stay that way.
