Setup:
- Pal Wii (homebrewed, d2x cIOS installed, Region Free EVERYTHING via Priiloader) with PAL games
- Wii2HDMI adapter
- Samsung monitor S27E330
Problem: The monitor seems to only accept 480p. Whenever I try to use PAL50 or PAL60, the monitor gives me an error message: "Not Optimum Mode, Recommended Mode 1920x 1080 60hz". So I try to force PAL480p or NTSC480p but it does not always work. Can I make them work somehow?
- Virtual Console SNES games are extremely glitchy, stretched, barely recognizable.
- N64 games have distorted sound and/or the bottom part of the image is cut off.
For reference, what works:
- Wii games via disc channel (because of native 480p output)
- most GameCube games (via Nintendont, Force Progressive On)
- Virtual Console NES and SEGA Master System games (via USBLoaderGX, force NTSC480p, Dol Video Patch activated)
Xyna
Can Nintendont somehow force the game, of which the game disc is inside the Wii, to also display 480p?
Yes, it can. I have a similar setup, and it worked for me. You just have to set "Force Progressive" in the Nintendont settings. However, it does not work for all games (e.g. not for Super Mario Sunshine), take a look at the "480p" column here: https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Nintendont_Compatibility_List

The original solution pre-update, as shown in the video, is consistent with ellabrella' explanation:
First
FLOWER IS REVERTin the right moment so the object starts cycling from seed to flower. Then
FLOWER IS STUMPin the right moment to get a secondFLOWER IS objectrule (the first one isFLOWER IS TREEon the right) and duplicate the object. After a couple of turns you have two stumps on top of each other. In the video it is done pretty fast, but when pausing you can see that the object is duplicated byFLOWER IS STUMP.
Your second edit paragraph about "Former Glory" seems to be incorrect, though. At least on the pre-update version, one object is reverted to Teeth, one to Keke (only that Keke gets changed back to Teeth one turn after).
Note that not only was "Seasons" changed in the early December update but also the complete REVERT mechanic: https://steamcommunity.com/games/736260/announcements/detail/3140694605109675170
Personally, I still have the old version, so I'm not sure whether anything relevant to this discussion was changed.

Played it and enjoyed it! The only suggestion I have is that the text is easier to read when you leave some space between the sentences. Other than I really liked that you had a theme going here. And the difficulty was not too high but I still had to think a little. Nice!

Discussion: If I understand correctly, this is just a "star battle" puzzle with different aesthetics. Googling for "star battle {tricks, strategy, tips}" should give you some good results.

If someone on Linux has a problem with the user.json not being found: Put it in ~/.config/SlippiOnline.
(In my case, my browser accidentally ate the query string at the of the URL https://slippi.gg/online/enable, which would normally inform you of that file path.)

The "longevity" character is displayed on the top and the bottom while the other characters are on the sides. It looks like this:
-----壽
賀--------賀
新--------新
謹--------謹
-----壽
However, the characters on the sides and on the top/bottom are far apart from each other, so I assume they are not meant to be read together as one phrase.
Anyway, thanks for your efforts, now I at least know that I do not embarass myself when I have this on my wall. :D

Something like this happend to me yesterday, where it intercepted a systemctl suspend such that I got stuck in limbo: systemctl did not let me poweroff or reboot because "a suspend operation was still going on".
Just half an hour ago, something similar happened seemingly out of nowhere. However, now I was able to poweroff, I just got stuck on the shutdown like you did.

When this happens, my wireless connection seems to fail. I also have some "NOHZ: local_softirq_pending 08" warnings somewhere in my journal (that I never saw before) which may or may not be related.
Edit: This is an unrelated problem and had to do with a USB-hub I had plugged in.

This happens to me, too, when I start telegram with my Scarlett plugged in. Opening pavucontrol and closing it again somehow solves the problem (but it would, of course, be nicer if the problem just did not occur).

Close to useless spacies "tech" on Dreamland: Hang on the ledge and use a get up attack (under 100%). If Whispy is blowing wind in your direction you'll automatically get back to the ledge. This way you can do continuous get up attacks until the wind stops blowing.

On PS Grass Transformation there are certain patches of grass that give Puff's rollout and Yoshi's egg roll a lot of momentum almost instantly. A famous example of this is Angrybox at MVG Sandstorm where it is used multiple times. Maybe there are parts of the floor on FoD with the same property, causing the stuff in the GIF to happen? Or is it just a combination of high percent and wonky DI?
EDIT: Here's a video by aMSa about eggceleration floors. But the part of FoD shown in the video is not one of them. It's just general rollout-weirdness and DI.

Since it is outdated, legacy Skype is not in the official repositories anymore but in the AUR (with the package name "skype"). In general, it is recommended to switch to skypeforlinux-bin (also in the AUR) which is actually getting updated and looks quite nice.
If the problem only concerns skype, there's probably nothing wrong with your pacman.

This friendlies match between Mango and the Magic gets pretty crazy.

Here is duckduckgo's help page concerning that topic.

Thanks! I will take a look at that.

I'm searching for some really good/hype PM 3.6 sets to watch.
Until a year ago I've been following the scene a bit, so I know about most of the crazy 3.0 matches like Rolex vs. Professor Pro or M2K vs. Emukiller. Sadly many PM sets I've watched since the development stopped weren't that interesting or exciting to me - maybe it's because I'm used to watching Melee events where I know all the players' histories and the commentators have years of experience when it comes to entertaining the viewers. Any sets you'd recommend to get me hype for PM again?
Xyna
Oh wow. I just did it with Mario! You were right, Down-B worked!
Xyna
I'm running PAL, so results may vary.
Without Up-B: Falco (only wall-jumps and double jump)
With Up-B: Fox, Sheik, Pichu, Young Link, Ice Climbers (Nana-loss), Samus, Captain Falcon, Mario (three wall-jumps, Cape, Down-B, Up-B)
The trick with many characters is to wait half a second after your first wall jump and then wall jump again such that you can get a third one.

Here is a great post by Kadano that sums it up.
I revived my reddit account only to tell you this: If you have any spare time, go for caches by pupen. https://www.geocaching.com/play/map?hb=pupen
I was recently in Tokyo and spent most of the week sightseeing and searching for caches. The caching highlight was definitely my day spent in Kōtō where I mostly went for pupen caches. All of them are hidden in plain sight and hand-made to fit the specific environment. Many of them made me go "Wait... WHAT?!?". Here are some highlights:
