Completely agree - the Proton plastic is much more resistant to turning over than the other available plastics.

Nah, Meowth especially is a fun little guy to catch. Paras is lower on the list for sure. I'm good on Mankey and Koffing. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen a Spearow in months... A Fearow every once in a while, but not spearow.

That's Calcy IV's overlay. It can display an IV estimate based on the CP of a pokemon, and if you appraise them so it knows the IVs exactly, it can tell you the mon's PvP rankings, stats, power up costs, etc. Very handy, saves you from having pull up things like pvpivs.com, or remember Hundo CP values while playing.
