i just bring it, costs me nothing to print it, costs me 2 minutes to put it in my bag. like the cost/reward ratio is so big no? like literally it costs u almost absolutely nothing to do it. and if it increases the chances of u getting that job by 0.1% thats worth the literal 2 minutes no? Idk, could people explain their rationale on this? because i genuinely dont understand why not. the objective here is to make it as frictionless as possible for them to hire you no?
Ysera66
hes pro common sense. but nowadays that means ur a facist i guess.
Ysera66
Well well well. sweet baby inc claims another victim
Ysera66
I mean i thought they imported tons of doctors and engineers, they should be booming in theory
Ysera66
ur mad cuz its true, just look at what people did when Krik got murdered..
Ysera66
yo ive made like an easier UI and a terminal and CLI for VAM that you can plug ur coding agent to and have been getting it to make scenes and stuff!
Ysera66
Regardless of money, I'd keep learning and building things. Create not consume. This can be a family, kids, a project, a garden, anything.

Lol this is an age old problem in all online competitive games. Dota for example. It will never be solved until you implement something like needing government ID verification for your account to play ranked.
Ysera66
Need a mod to remove the char from the game tbh
Ysera66
where can i find the beep bop mod?
Ysera66
Generate but understand. I'd say. Can't fully hands off. U still need to know what it's doing. For professional work anyways. Personal projects nah
Ysera66
I hope it gets better and I hope indie studios pop up more. So we can screw over the AAA slop machine and microtransactions
Ysera66
That really depends. A large restaurant or fast food chain yes. I don't need any human interaction or people messing up my order.
But food trucks, intimate small shops run by people in the community I've come to know etc. Absolutely I go for the social and human aspect. Its not always black and white.
Ysera66
qualified vs still qualified but a little less but with better interpersonal skills and great to work with, the latter always wins. especially in highly technical fields.

Please cite sources and credentials. Which company? What project? Or is it all personal anecdotes ? Because it's being used across projects millions of people are using today. Platforms like shopify, meta and now even Linux. I get it we hate ai but it'd be great to have a proper discussion instead of anyone who disagrees is a bot..
Ysera66
I thought it was awesome. Keep building and stay curious! Put it on my wishlist and liked !
Ysera66
Lmfaoo if he was a democrat and ultra left wing you would be saying his code is amazing and not slop
Ysera66
I mean.. look at the username. There's no way they're a reasonable person 🤣
Ysera66
School doesn't teach critical thinking. Lmao. All of it i learnt outside the classroom. By doing, and failing, and doing and iterating again and again.

Don't think of yourself as just a software engineer. SWE can be one of the things you do, but don't let yourself be defined by it. If you don't enjoy something, have the courage to branch out and try new things (which it seems like you do). Don't tie your self worth to one single profession or skill. Go wide!! And all the best!!

I have a BMW e90 m3 that I also work on myself, and compared to that working on the xj is such a dream. Components are so easy to reach, fasteners are simple, parts are cheap and available everywhere. I love it
Ysera66
I spent 2 grand on my 4.0 1998. Maybe about 300 bucks in maintenance over 2 years. I'd take this any day over paying 500+ in car payments every month lol. Im debt free and honestly love driving it more than modern cars
Ysera66
Anything I don't like = nazi 🤣

I'd say I hope more indie studios pop up. Since the barrier to entry is lower now. I think a bunch of "ai influencers" vibe coding random slop games vs a small team of devs that are really good at both hand coding and using ai , the results will be vastly different. Stardew valley was built by a man with a vision. I hope we'll see more of that tbh.
Theres different people in the org, and who interviews you will have their own preferences and quirks. If you can only click with a certain type of person then youll be limited in your options. If you can get a long with anybody and know how to work well and adapt to any kind of personality type and their crazy quirks, you can work anywhere and have no trouble finding a job in any given profession.
or sometimes its literally that the interviewer is so swamped with his/her/their own work that they have no time to print out your resume, or dig through a bunch of emails to pull it up.
Im not saying you gotta be fake and suck up to people, but if youre an overall chill person that people enjoy being around, it'll open doors more often than you realize.
But i guess a majority of people do not really understand this or just have a different perspective to this than I do, in any case, this skill served me well in terms of everything, a new job, new network, new opportunities, promotions and et cetera.
