They are two very different games, two very different genres even, you can't compare them just because they are in the same ip or made by the same team. You can enjoy the game and you can not, it's fine either way. But if you bought it expecting another DRG and didn't like it when you found out it's not, you did a big mistake. They never tried to replace DRG, it's another game from the same ip but that's all. DRG still exist and will continue to do so, don't worry.
