They have on board (our pov) a sheoldred as an artifact (the enemy loses two life on draw and the player gains two on draw), plus lunar convocation, which is two mana and two life draw a card, plus an indestructible creature, just a matter of time before they accrue enough value and win anyways

ZarnHurk

People don’t bring it up enough, but in a kind of similar vein is [[anticausal vestige]], super good synergy piece imo with this commander

ZarnHurk

I would phrase it as follows: attacking creatures you control gain indestructible until the beginning of your post combat main phase

ZarnHurk

Yeah it’s strictly better than skullduggery

ZarnHurk

I think it was leaked in a common drop a few days ago, but there are ways to prepared creatures that don’t have their own prepare triggers (it was an artifact I think, though there could be more than just the one)

ZarnHurk

I think it’s mostly because black is tied to the two colleges (classes? Idk what the factions are category wise) that have life gaining as a theme from their adjacent colors (Green and White respectively), and so this slots into either doing generic black thing +minor support for either group

Just gotta hit that torpor orb and now you don’t have to disclose whether or not you hold hate in your heart

I feel like I’m having the same problem with TMNT draft, where I make relatively workable decks that get shafted one way or another (only trophied like once, maybe twice in the pick two out of 10+ drafts in total [and I don’t think I’ve gone higher than 2-3 in quick draft]). I think the draft environment just leans a lot harder on uncommon synergy and having efficient removal and tempo, of which I think your deck lacks early, and so that might be where you got slowed down

ZarnHurk

Closest I think of is [[metallic rebuke]]

ZarnHurk

I did a similar thing during my physical prerelease where I discarded to hand size (overdrew with hacktivist) and reanimated him with brilliance unleashed, fun game

ZarnHurk

I see 2x cursecrafter and 2x mischief. I play goblins there, and you can keep emptiness for a late game body that kills something (don’t need the white)

ZarnHurk

I mean, I myself pick the brigid’s command, since most of the command spells are really swingy, and the kithkin may wheel, and even if it doesn’t you have the tree folk dork or the changing (or even just eh blossoming defense) still comfortably in those colors

ZarnHurk

It can be a little hard on color identity in brawl, but I find [[Cease // Desist]] to be a really versatile card in a lot of cases (not just enchantment hate)

ZarnHurk

It’s not really a fact or trivia, but I like the potential flavor (not sure if this is correct) of the -1/-1 counters on lorwyn being remnants of the phyrexian invasion

ZarnHurk

I’ve used a cloudfin raptor as a fairly solid flyer, since it grows pretty solidly

ZarnHurk

I’ve been playing a lot of Golgari, and working on a Sultai thing right now. Tends to have good typal synergies (I like playing tribal decks), as well as just generally solid (and what I consider fair) play patterns (outside of reanimater, which I don’t really play)

ZarnHurk

Funny thing is, at least for a time, you could transform and still get shardholders in the previous version of arena (at least I was able to, though the memory is fuzzy)

The world can be a really mean place, and I for one can see where you’re coming from. It’s a very familiar place to be for a lot of people, especially if you see the myriad of problems in so many people. I would disagree on the people in general being shitty though, I’ve found that It can just be very difficult to find good people, since so many others hide themselves from the evils of the world.
