Just from the shore, under some trees, not sure what the lake floor was like where I was fishing, but there was some weed cover, fishing just up over that

Not this one, she got to swim off.

Yeah I know, it was my bad for leaving my net at home, if it's anything the grass was a little wet from some light rain we had.

Of course, I caught 2 almost a third tiger trout that day with the Zman GrubZ 2.5" in bloodworm colour with a 1/8 ounce jighead. The rainbow was caught on powerbait, but I looked into it, and it's basically scented plastic foam that dissolves into the water so I won't be using it again. I would recommend using worms or another bug instead.
I also caught a few smaller trout in the area with a small rapala original floating minnow, and an inline spinner lure, can't go wrong with the basics.

As for time of day, I caught them at around 6-7pm, trout are usually most active in the first and last few hours of sunlight. Through the middle of the day they dive deeper and sit in holes and around heavy cover.

NSW brother. Lake Wallace, near Lithgow.

Good stuff brother, I felt the same way when looking at some of the trout catches where I went, caught these two in a lake, that's where the monsters hide but they can be fickle. Tight lines my friend.

Ask them

Oh and if you have the means, pick up a size 2000 or even 2500 size reel, will make lot of difference

As others have pointed out, your set up is a little too heavy for trout, this set up qould be perfect for fishing estuaries though. Maybe spool on some thinner line and use a little lughter gear, also pick yourself up some sort of float and split shot sinkers for fishing the bait, will keep it off the snags and in the strike zone, I'd recommend an a-just-a-bubble or similar bubble float since you can control their weight and buoyancy by filling or emptying the water in them.

I was thinking of putting him and a few of his mates on a sandwich

Nice flathead, but what's the fish on the right? Never seen one like it before.

ZestycloseCommand152

It only applies it as a modifier pretty much, so they don't carry through breeding

ZestycloseCommand152

A laod of early game meat, hide, and a tad bit of prime

What're the rates? I may be interested

Autumn drakeling gathers a lot of stone with it's arm breath attack, but you don't get any weight reduction as the player, but it also gives you and the dino you're on a 15% harvest bonus, so it might still be worth getting

To add to this even further, mantis and karkinos also drop organic poly, a huge amount if you use the chainsaw.
