Firstly, thank you all for the encouragement to keep the character as is, I'm glad people still like him and I'm just over worrying I think so I'm going to keep him for sure because honestly, none of this game would have happened without me designing him and then loving him so much I designed a whole universe around him lol. But, secondly. I'm curious about my logo. I love the title but I'm not sure if the simple single color logo is appealing to everyone and was wondering what you guys think of it. I was originally going for a D&D sort of logo, like how their early 2000s logos looked at least and I think I sort of nailed that style for the most part but I'm wondering if it's a little too generic. Thoughts on that? Let me know. Thanks

Oh, and if anyone was curious about the in-game graphics. I'll attach a video so you can see how one of the areas looks. Keep in mind though that I'm still working on a lot of details and I'm doing all the art, animation and code myself and the game dev stuff is was all new to me before I started these projects and so I have to learn as I go and every new thing I come across, I need to spend the time to study and understand it and I want it to be good so I really really put the work in to make sure I understand it before i move forward and hopefully that will make for a better game in the end but it makes it hard to work on certain things so some things are still placeholders and I messed up the placement and layering of the light on his staff here so looks a little bad when he shoots while in a shadowed area because the light should be in front of the staff but you'll get the idea I think. Any feedback is always welcome. Oh and I've updated the characters idle stance and it looks better than this one here too so yeah, it's all a little rough but in my opinion, starting to look pretty cool lol.

Thanks so much. I just finished my story too. I've had it mostly done but was having a little bit of hard time tying some of it together and so I decided to make it as over the top as I could possibly imagine and that opened up the entire story and added a whole new town to make it all work and now I have a full cohesive story that is wonderfully over the top (IMHO that is lol) and I really hope people like it as much as I do because I had coming up with past and future scenarios and how the characters are all involved and then a cliffhanger end credit scene that is obvious but also vague enough to let me play around with multiple ideas for the sequel if it ever gets there. I really hope it's as good as I think lol, it is intimidating thinking about whether it's actually good or not lol. Thanks again though

lol thanks. I'm sure he/she will understand... Or they'll smack you... Well they're going to smack you no matter what so just pretend its for that lol. But yeah I get it. Rabbits are a close enough animal in terms of cuteness at least lol. I used to have a lot of pet rabbits growing up and they're adorable. I have some rabbits in my game and I love how they turned out. My game will have basically every kind of animal and insect I can think of all anthropomorphic and living like humans. Well the animals, the bugs still have a little ways to go before they have a society but they're working on it lol

Wait really? He's that old? I thought he was like a 60s or 70s character. That is awesome. Felix the cat is one of my very favorite characters ever lol. Yeah I think I need to just stop thinking about it so much. I mean, just look at Dragon Ball. They've had super popular cat characters in every series and they've kept that going from the mid 80s all the way up til Beerus in DBS. They really are timeless classics I guess lol

lol, I love it. I wish I could post images on comments here because a couple weeks ago I asked people on r/PixelArt if anyone wanted some free custom pixel art done and got so many requests and tried my best to do as many as I could and a couple were of people asking me to draw their cats and I love how they turned out. The response I got from one of them was honestly the nicest words I had ever heard in my life and it actually teared me up. One was jut an orange cat and he didn't give an examples of what he wanted, just asked me to draw him so I took my art skills and gave him the best art I could and he loved it but the one I mentioned before, she had a cat that lost an eye and the cat had a patch of fur that looked like an eye patch so she said she always pictured her cat as a pirate and asked if I could draw her as a pirate. I spent around 1 to 2 hours on each design but that one I spent about 6 or more on because i wanted her to be happy with it and like I said, she loved it and it made my day lol.

thanks so much. Yeah thats what I'm hoping for sure and with your point of having always imagined it with him, I never for a second picture it without him. I made him and then went from there, I honestly designed a whole world and beyond around him and he has been the core that has tied all the gameplay, all the secrets and all the story together. Like I said in the post, it could be changed to any other household pet sort of animal and it would still technically work but I just feel like the soul would be gone if I lost him. Thanks again

lol that is actually an awesome point. They've been painting cats and making statues of them forever and it's not like we say "look at that slop the ancient Egyptians made with cats everywhere" lol. Thanks, I actually did lol at that.

Thanks so much. Yeah that is what I'm going try to do and just keep working on it. I have some medical issues so I had to sort of step away from it for just the last week and half or so but that's got me looking at it more and more instead of working on it so I think I got a little to in my own head about it because he really is the core of my game, the heart and soul of it and I know I would lose some of the passion for making it if I were to lose him. As cutesy as he is and the whole game is, it's going to be a pretty dark game in terms of story but all done playfully and lighthearted but it gets more deep and dark as it goes on and has a pretty over the top ending that I hope I can pull off right but hopefully it all comes together and it appeals to all sides but yeah, the cutesy look is the sort of hook I was going for and a lot of girls seem to like it which is awesome lol.

I remember when I first posted it I was worried people might think so because what I did was I drew it in Photoshop and used a bunch of noise and layer effects and it's something I do when working with larger, non pixel art designs and I new it looked a little strange but I really liked how it turned out but yeah absolutely know what you mean. But I promise, I'm an old school artist and have been doing art for decades and pixel art for 2 and a half years and I absolutely hate how ai is stealing so much from artists. Thanks again

thanks. yeah that's my hopes on it and it is pretty much why I chose a cat to begin with, well that and he looked cool lol. I just started to worry because I have seen a whole lot of nice looking cat characters lately but I'm gonna try to not think about it and juts go with it. I also already got a pretty famous nerd-core rapper to agree to let me use his song in my trailer and that was based off of showing him my game with this character so I wouldn't want to risk losing that either, or my followers that also like my character so yeah, I'm gonna keep going with him for sure. Thanks so much. Yeah he's permanently grumpy faced, he can't help it so he just roles with it and takes everything very very seriously lol. He's basically got the same attitude as Batman, always grumpy face but always wanting to help lol.

Thanks. Yeah that is how I feel too but it helps to hear it from others every now and again lol. Him and his cute grumpy face are sort of the heart and sole of this project. I really studied, and I mean studied so much about character design and came to this look after testing out multiple ideas and I eventually got to this after making what I called an anti-hello kitty lol and he has been the core of my game ever since then so losing him would be horrible, especially since I plan on having a bunch of old early 2000s cat memes all over the place with my character in place of the cat in the meme and I've come up with so much backstory and gave him a tragic but uplifting story in a fantasy sci-fi setting and have my whole story planned out start to finish with a cliffhanger end credit scene and everything but I still have so much work to do and I see people working on their cat games and moving along so fast and I definitely worry about it. I also have 144 followers on here I don't want to let down either because him being the mascot for the game was a big part of what a lot of people like about my game so yeah, it was just worrying me because it's so much work and so much more time still but I do think I'm maybe overthinking it, I do know that my art and character designs are all uniquely me, and as much as some of the other games look great, I don't feel like they have the charm I think I will bring to my game so yeah, I'm gonna stick with it. Thanks so much. Some encouragement is pretty much exactly what I need right now. Not to say I'm fishing for compliments or looking for sympathy or anything but some reassurance is very very needed right now. Maybe it is just me and because I'm making a cat character I am noticing them more but I've seen so many and most of them are those games that I've never even tried where you like make potions or battle with cards and stuff but also a few metroidvanias too so I was starting to worry. The card and potion ones seem to be ai art and the fact that they don't animated them really makes me think they are ai but some definitely aren't, so I don't want to make it sound like I'm complaining about the ai, which I do do but not here at least lol, but yeah thanks so much.

Yeah I guess I never did play 9 sols but the cat look with the ears and I have no idea what the story is about but the whole "cats have nine lives" and sort of thought sols meant souls so 9 souls/lives lol. I have no idea though and just assumed that so I could be waaaay off lol. But yeah, thanks so much again.

lol, that was based on your hints actually but really just a wild guess. It's a action thriller and has none of those guys and is the third installment but I was pretty sure it wasn't it lol.
