Had similar symptoms and replaced BIOS battery, started up normally again.

This fixed my DS620+ and many others. Also thought it’s the power supply first

Try replacing the BIOS battery

Thanks for letting us know! Glad it worked

Thank god I am not the only one, thought I was stupid for not finding the option. Split view is such an essential feature and probably the first setting other apps are offering. How can Proton forget such a basic option?

You dreamer you! Why not the new UCG Fiber?

I’ve seen many registrars over the years and none of them offer automatic dns zone transfers. Where does your expectation come from? And compared to GoDaddy, the Manager interface is probably lightyears ahead…

Was yours broken right after/during the update or also few days after? It happened to my M1 iPad Pro few days after the iPadOS 26 update, will take no charge anymore and does not respond to any buttons (tried the volume and power button combos).

It’s been like this for years with almost all of Synology’s new business apps…

What browser are you using to access DSM? I found there are currently massive speed differences between them.

+1 for invoiceshelf import!

Windmill is amazing! I just think the workflow system is a bit pale compared to n8n. The latter can wire up nodes in any way, doing loops, having multiple in- and outputs per node, etc. In Windmill it seems the workflow direction just goes from top to bottom, with 1 in- and output per node/script. Maybe I haven't found all features yet, but the limited workflow design just instantly brought me back to n8n.
abarthch
Windmill seems more versatile and works with almost any language, but for the actual workflows it seems very limited and can only process one input and output each for a script. With n8n you can just wire up nodes any way you like, do loops, comparisons, etc. If you compare the wiring of the flows, the difference looks almost like 2D vs 3D. Is that because I'm using windmill wrong?

Yes, at least mine do. Firewall can be set conveniently in manager.

Same, I get the "Server Connection Error".
Before was working nicely, but I had an older compose stack, and I updated to the new one that has redis removed.

Local AI ≠ AI on localhost. It is a term used for AI machines on the local network.

Does it support Intel’s Arc GPUs?

I understand the outrage somewhat, but Synology’s “NAS” is way beyond a networked attached storage. It’s a fully capable linux server. And seeing how every other SaaS platform is integrating AI in their apps, why wouldn’t Synology do that move?
Likely the AI console package contains libraries that are required by the new wave of Syno’s ecosystem apps. Just as any other package requires some dependency package. And if you don’t pay and connect an AI via API, how can there be communication with an AI?
My guess is that they would have included that console in the system settings, but that would require a 7.3, and they would rather release 8.0 soon.
Only thing that irritates me is that they haven’t included an easy way to connect a local AI, such as Ollama. After all, isn’t that the reason people buy a Synology, to build their own cloud?

Does Proton offer hosting services? That would be amazing.

Fair enough. But I dare to say 99% of users here, even advanced ones, would not find the new container manager lacking, once they gave it a try. I have used the old Docker app, and escaped it.
Such a shame Syno doesn't really advertise or document its new container deployment system (including the integration into web station). Also third party guides are lacking. Not even Marius seems to have discovered it - could safe him and his users life times ;)
abarthch
I know what you mean but most selfhosting projects already have ready-made yaml files to copy paste. And if not I'll just ask chatgpt for a recipe.
Anyways, just wanted to let other Syno users know how container management, no matter how complex, can be orchestrated completely within DSM. I think that's amazing and was not possible few years ago with the old Docker package.
abarthch
Here an example of how my dashboard looks like when setting up containers. In almost all cases it's enough to just have Container Manager, Web Station, File Station and Text Editor. To debug I still SSH into the device sometimes, but recently discovered Dozzle which will save me lots of trips to the console. Btw, you can even open a console for each container using projects. I respect anyone that uses SSH or advanced container managers but nowadays I really think these 4 built-in apps are the only ones you need as Syno user, especially a newbie.
Maybe give this place a try
