Thinking about creating a GoFundMe to get that asshole some therapy.

abnormalbrain

"Hey Paul, let's get rid of Clarence and steal all his good ideas"

abnormalbrain

"Quiet. Piggy."

abnormalbrain

Are they sprinkling on the seat? What's the problem?

abnormalbrain

It's not about AI. It's about enshittification. They know they can make just as much money doing half as good of a fucking job with half as many people, because their customer base is trapped. Every fucking company is doing it, every consumer is seeing it, don't carry their fucking lie for them.

abnormalbrain

Brent Spiner is super-likeable, that's why this may be hard to hear, but the thing that he plays, it's just another example of the tech around us that is completely untrustworthy. If you had a top of the line, bleeding edge tech phone, but it didn't come to you from the manufacturer/ retailer, instead you found it (conveniently) on top of a pile of trash, would you let it drive your car? Let it babysit your children? Would you put it in charge of the galaxy's biggest mobile cache of weaponry? What about after you find out it has an identical evil twin? Put it out the airlock.

abnormalbrain

I think they should put Data out the airlock. Why? For all the same reasons they should put Lore out the airlock. For all the stuff that we've seen of data harvesting and spying on our current devices, and then these guys in the future, they find an android, don't know the history or chain of custody, they fix it up, put it through school and give it access to the most powerful ship in the galaxy. Nope.

Oh, also it has the same face as the guy who created space Hitler.

abnormalbrain

When you have clients who do not accept work done with AI because of copyrighting concerns, and Adobe just decides to jam it into their entire suite of software.

abnormalbrain

People hate this take, but that's how I feel about Data.

abnormalbrain

From the article, I guess he'd already been moved up and he was out-playing even those kids. If nothing else, he's probably going far with that talent and the attention this will get. I worry about him watching how adults are behaving and his understanding of the police being called *on him*.

abnormalbrain

Yay, slop.

abnormalbrain

It's praise rock.

abnormalbrain

It makes me so mad that millionaires have to sit in traffic while billionaires get to go ahead.

abnormalbrain

Fifty percent of the time it works 79% percent of the time 🐈‍⬛

abnormalbrain

Not being sarcastic when I say I would rather perish than be trapped in that tiny prison for any length of time. When people harken back to the greatness of the 1950s, they seem to forget that people were existentially frightened enough to actually build this shit.

abnormalbrain

The average CEO is definitely dumber than the average CEO realizes.

abnormalbrain

Are we referring to morons as CEOs now? Because I'm 100% here for it

abnormalbrain

It's even in just his little gestures. I'm okay with it.

abnormalbrain

Why toast?

abnormalbrain

And other men's globes?

abnormalbrain

I'm sorry you were told that that happened. No one else is reporting anything like this, including my own experience voting this morning. I'm calling shenanigans.

abnormalbrain

Yeah. He'll try, and it's possible that he'll succeed, but countries are not advertisers. So we'll see.

abnormalbrain

And with the way the US defense industry has scattered manufacturing around the country in order to hang 'jobs' over the head each representative, when those defense contracts evaporate, every state in the nation is going to feel it.

abnormalbrain

What will come is that other nations now see this kill switch being used during combat, and both Trump and Musk responsible. Those nations will immediately jump start their own defense programs, likely killing that international market for both Musk and the US defense industry.

abnormalbrain

Salem's Lot TV miniseries. When the kid comes to the window, oh wait, I'm still scared of that.
