Has he said he thinks you’re too slow? Did you have any of these thoughts before going to the run club or trying to run with him?

I’ve been running for years and I’m around a 15-minute easy pace. My boyfriend started running about a month ago and could already easily blow me out of the water. We’ve run outdoors together a couple times and he stays with me as the slower of us. Or when we go to the gym we can each do our thing on the treadmills. But we’ve also talked about how if he wanted to take off or I wanted to take it even easier, we’d split up and meet at the end no problem.

Run your runs for you. If you force yourself to ‘keep up’ with your bf, you may gain some speed out of it but I think it may more likely injure you and suck the enjoyment out of it.

Poptarts and coffee. Depending on the distance I might also have some Tailwind (definitely on race day). Sometimes I’ll do peanut butter + honey toast but usually just go for the Poptarts, they’re easier.
