Mate, MotoGP costs over 10 less to host. The tickets are affordable for locals etc. In equal conditions F1 would flourish too, as this weekend proved. Thanks to the Malaysian government pricing the tickets accordingly due to the circumstances well, you saw the crowd.

Besides the cost issue, MotoGP doesn't have the Singapore GP as completion competition which is why F1 struggled there too before they called it quits.

Unfortunately I don't think we'll be seeing Sepang on the calendar in the near future besides one-offs like this weekend.
