Right click the image in google search, and click "open image in new tab". "Copy image address" might also work, although the URLs are different when I try both, but both lead me to a direct link for that picture.

Lol that "Yeah!" after the wreck at 29 seconds is hilarious.

ahappypoop

Easy fix, just have pitchers use the current distance when they throw breaking balls, and the further mound when they throw fastballs. If you use the wrong one, first time is a warning and second is an ejection. You just gotta think outside the box people!

Annnnnnnnnnd time! Random thread turns topic to MAGA in only 4 child comments, not bad but we can do better Reddit!

Train runs over everyone in the thread

ahappypoop

Lol source?

ahappypoop

His top half and bottom half look like they came from two different people.

ahappypoop

I had indeed made it to 2026 without hearing these, so thank you lol.

This sub continually validates my opinion that everyone that loves or is involved with college football in any way is an idiot (and yes, I'm here and I love college football too).

ahappypoop

Exactly. All this talk about how college football was better back when it was more regional, and now it's all "How am I supposed to care about beating my rivals if it doesn't have national championship implications?"

ahappypoop

The same way I hate watch UNC in basketball? Because when you do end up missing the playoffs, it's a huge embarrassment and hilarious for me? And because with every loss your seed will get worse, and your playoff run will likely be shorter?

ahappypoop

Wasn't your team the one that pitched a fit and declined the only good bowl game last year because you thought you deserved to be in the playoffs with 2 losses? So 3 losses is a trash team not worth watching, even with playoffs on the line, but 2 losses is a championship caliber team that has a major grievance if they're left out?

This also confirms what I've been saying for years, that bowl games are worthless, because Notre Dame won the Sun Bowl in 2023 and the Gator Bowl in 2022, but you're saying you also had no interest in those teams because they had 3 and 4 losses, respectively.

ahappypoop

His name is Jalen Hurts. They thought he was gonna be Hurtsing other teams, not themselves.

ahappypoop

I thought he was talking about Hal lol.

Ribbons are kinda like little banners. All I'm hearing is the Reds won banners in 2025 and 2020.

Yeah most of the arguments I've seen are from people who are mainly against the number itself, and only secondarily against the format. I will say I think it would be far better if all conference champions were guaranteed a spot, like March Madness, but even in that scenario there's still a majority of teams that will be selected by committee. There's not really any good way around that, and it doesn't have to be some awful thing. In my mind the way you mitigate that is by
1. making sure every team in the country controls their own ability to get in the playoffs (which providing a spot for all conference champions does), and
2. Making the field big enough that the committee isn't deciding between any legitimate championship contenders. We're always going to argue over who's in and out, but make sure the teams that are left out have only themselves to blame, and then we can decide a champion on the field.

What's another all-time weekend that's been talked about for generations in college football? Any particular regular season weekends from the 90s or 2000s that still get discussed all the time around here?

ahappypoop

Ahem I believe you meant to say "Reigning ACC champion Duke lost their last two games to Georgia Tech and UNC."

Mr. Beloved Coach

ahappypoop

It'd be even funnier if you sent it to Oakland California too.

ahappypoop

Bro you went to Marquette, you don't even have a football or baseball team! (Side note, how in the world does Marquette not have a baseball team, and not have a football team since 1960? Why do they have so few sports?)

ahappypoop

I thought it was obvious by the way the QB was the one on the field and the coach is on the sidelines. That wasn't some complex situation where you needed the perfect play call; there are mediocre high school qbs that would understand what needed to happen there in real time.
